Colonial Inn Ellsworth

Staying off Bay Harbor to avoid the expensive hotels; this is a fair＞good option. Front desk was good (check in/out). Continental breakfast provided plenty of options and coffee was always hot and made. Facilities need some tending too; appears they are working on it. Lobby/hallway to second floor had horrible odor like BO. Beds and bedding were clean and updated. However rooms need lots of TLC to update. Housing staff were great and seemed to work efficiently. If they get the place updated; it will bring in lots more visitors.

We stayed at the room in Annex and our group stayed at two rooms.-very clean and new! The room is clean and spacious and the bed is comfortable! The bathroom is small but very clean! We slept very well! The breakfast was grab and go- good for hikers! They have laundry and indoor pool. We didn’t use the pool but it looked big and clean. We didn’t use a lot service, but the staff at front desk was nice when we were asking questions. The only thing is that one of the room has a odor of new renovated room- Luckily we bought a sachet and didn’t stay at room a lot so it was acceptable. The other room was odor free though! Depending on which room you staying I think. There is a Walmart nearby and the Tesla supercharge, however, the route is a one way route in front of the hotel and about 40 minutes driving to the Acadia National park so not very convenient but we are very grateful for the last minute booking d/t plumbing issue at the other place we stayed! Overall good staying experience and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to stay at a clean and nice Inn- the room we stayed definitely way better than a motel room!!

Great staff, clean room, good breakfast. It was a terrific short vacation trip to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Check in and check out procedure was easy.

We were pleasantly surprised by our newly upgraded room. Very clean and comfortable. Perfect for just the 2 of us. It's conveniently located to areas like Bangor Airport, Bar Harbor, Acadia, and MANY souvenir shops and lobster shacks/restaurants. We especially liked the variety of breakfast foods. Pretty much anything you could want for an easy breakfast. We took our breakfast to go and ate it along the way to our daily destinations. We really appreciated the individually wrapped foods, coffee, juices and snacks, making them convenient to pack for a day trip. They also offer grills and a campfire pit - which we didn't have time to take advantage of. Thank you for helping to make our week stay in Maine so memorable.

Looks like they are in the middle of renovating some of their rooms. We got a room that had been renovated which was nice. Had a fridge and microwave, luggage rack/area to hang clothes. Staff were friendly. They had breakfast items available in the mornings. Close enough to Acadia/Bar Harbor that the drive wasn’t terrible. Did not use the pool so can’t speak to that. Really enjoyed Fogtown Brewing which was a short drive away.
