The enthusiastic and kind owners of this historic hotel are to be commended for preserving a fine place from America’s past. The suite in the Wolf Hotel was exceptionally spacious, clean and comfortable. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

This place was amazing! The owner Chris was so extremely nice and so accommodating. We came here for my daughter's 16th birthday as she wanted to go to a ******* hotel. The rooms were so unique and perfect for our weekend trip. We did the underground tunnel tour. Our tour guide Joe did such a good job and was a great story teller. You could tell he really knew the history and enjoyed sharing that with our group. Same with Chris and his part in the tour under the hotel. We also took advantage of some axe throwing in Great Bend and the escape room in Lyons that Chris also owns. We had a lot of fun with all the experiences that we got to have this weekend. Thank you to the staff and the owner for making this weekend so successful and meaningful for us. If we are ever our that way again, we would definitely be stopping back in. I would highly recommend a stay here.

It was an okay experience the room was very nicely restored. I feel that there should be someone at the front desk to answer questions because it was strange texting a front desk hotel clerk. Chris the owner should be applauded for how well the hotel has been restored. The restaurant needs to be open more as there's no other restaurant in town.

Fun place to go. Another visitor traded rooms when we mutually saw that we had booked wrongly-sized rooms. The other visitors were very pleasant. The accommodations were what we expected. The self-serve breakfast area was well-stocked. We could not see the underground tour due to schedule, so try to arrange that ahead of time.

I'm normally a loyal rewards club member but my hotel chain of choice wasn't available in this area so I decided to see what was around the small town my boyfriend's family is from. Up popped this lovely historic hotel and I'm so glad I got to experience this place. From the beginning, Chris, the owner, was super responsive and so very helpful, even with my booking goofs. Checking in was easy, as Chris is fairly flexible, and check out was even easier (just had to lock up and drop the keys in the box.) The hotel is beautiful and so lovingly restored. It is older though so understand you will hear floorboards and stairs creak. If you have a rambunctious wedding happening during your stay, which we did, you may hear them throughout the night but in all honesty it really wasn't that bad. Older or not, the WiFi was strong and the showers had hot water with good pressure. The shared spaces are a real star here. We utilized the kitchen the entire time we were there, including cooking breakfast twice. If you don't want to cook, there are a great amount of continental items provided by the hotel. We drank in the saloon on Saturday and we did the Underground tour on Monday. Both are must do things if you happen to stay here. Excited to visit again and maybe have the ghost encounter we missed out on, next time. LOL!

I had read about this hotel, and reviews were very good. They are exactly right! We had a beautiful king size room with ensuite bath. The Victorian furniture is gorgeous and the bed was comfy. The room itself was just so welcoming. The owner, Chris McCord, had his mother greet us and show us to our room. The building has been lovingly restored by Chris and an impressive list of volunteers. Rooms are on the second floor (and there are many steps to get there!). There are maybe four or five rooms. All have use of a parlor and a breakfast room. Both are charming! There is good wifi, also. In the morning, the kitchen has a Keurig, granola bars, individual muffins, fruit cups, yogurt, individual fruit, and yogurt. Whenever you are ready for breakfast, it is at your disposal. There is also a microwave and refrigerator you may use. Chris gave us a history of the area, and the next morning, we took a tunnel tour of the tunnel system underground that was built by Bavarian immigrants and parts can be viewed today. The Wolf has a dining room, but that is closed on certain days. They also have an underground prohibition bar which is only open Friday and Saturday. The town of Wilson is very small. For dinner on Sunday night, we had Casey's Pizza on their deck. Built in the 1890s, this is a part of history we got to use as our home base. Beautiful room and very clean. I'd stay here again!
