We decided to explore all of Maryland so we need a home base. Elkridge was central to many of the locations we wanted to visit. So being that we are ihg members we chose this hotel. The front desk staff was kind & courteous. The rooms and main hotel were clean. The breakfast was well done. They served coffee, cocoa, a variety of juices, bagels, toast, French toast, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal (not instant packs - fresh), sausage, bacon and omelets. Our son loved the pool. It was small but served its purpose. Our only negative was that the shower didn't have much pressure.

There is a free shuttle bus or go to a nearby shopping center (Arundel Mills). The room was clean and tidy, with hot and cold air. There is an outdoor swimming pool downstairs. Before overseas hotels were basically booked on Booking, the first time I tried to book on Trip.com, the price still had an advantage.

The Comfort Suites chain is supposed to be entirely smoke free, but as soon as we walked into our room, we encountered an overwhelming cigarette smoke smell. The worst we have ever smelled in a hotel room. My husband went to the front desk to ask about moving to a different room, and the employee said that because we booked through a third party, he couldn’t do anything. He treated my husband like a second class citizen and said if we had a problem, we could go across the street to the Holiday Inn! So rude! My husband then asked to speak to the manager. The employee said the manager left at 3:00, so we’d have to wait until tomorrow. Apparently, the manager very conveniently leaves by 3:00, which is the earliest anyone can check in. My husband then asked for Febreeze or something to cover the unbearable cigarette smell. The employee said that housekeeping had already left for the day, (again…convenient) but he had a little bit of “smoke odor eliminator” left in a spray bottle that we could use. I sprayed it all over the room, we opened the door, cranked the AC and a ceiling fan to air the room out. There were cigarette burns in the curtains, and both chairs, so this room has obviously been smoked in, even though they claim it is a nonsmoking room, hotel and chain. Also, we did not book a jacuzzi room, but this room had one in the main living area, and it was broken. The headboard on the bed had grimy handprints all over it, so we really didn’t want to lay our heads by that! Changing hotels was not on option, because it was Memorial Day weekend, and everything was either fully booked or triple the price. My husband then called Hotels.com from our room to see if they could help. They called the desk and negotiated to get us a refund for one of our 2 nights there, which we appreciated. While my husband was still on his phone with the very friendly Hotels.com rep, the front desk employee called the room telephone, so I answered. He wanted the spray bottle back! I asked if he would bring some cleaning solution so I could clean the headboard! He came up to the room and brought disinfectant wipes for ME to clean the headboard, and he took pictures of it and took pictures of all the cigarette burns. Now to address breakfast. I specifically called ahead of time to ask what they offer for breakfast. My husband is borderline diabetic and can’t have breads and sweets. They said they always have eggs and breakfast meats. Great…we knew we could enjoy their breakfast amenity! On Sunday morning, we were at breakfast by 8:30am and they were out of eggs and there were only a few sausage links left. I asked the breakfast attendant when they would bring out more, and she said they would not be resupplying them. They were completely out, and there was still an hour of breakfast service left at a completely booked hotel! Monday morning they were out of both eggs and sausage! Thirdly, I’ll address parking. Mr. Will easily resolved some payment issues for me and also relayed my gratitude in my absence to both Ms. Liz who was the best do-it-all waitress at the previous night's dinner and the gentlelady or gentleman who cleaned our room. Could not ask for more nor better - the people make the place a real comfort. The ladies who served us during continental breakfast worked hard, gave generous portions, and always were taking care of us as we just tried to get through the early hours at the start of a long and fateful day. And those who checked us in or manned the front desks gave helpful advice and anticipated our needs for all our convenience. Excellent service is not easy, and I am thankful for those who gave it to us through our stay.

I looked at all the BWI airport hotels carefully before booking, and decided that the Westin was probably the best. Now having stayed there I'm pretty sure I was right. The place is clean and modern, with a spacious lobby and updated design in the rooms. The blackout curtains are some of the best I've ever seen: I woke up at 8:30am convinced it was still the middle of the night. The bathroom has a great shower, was clean and fully stocked with towels. Really everything I could have asked for.

The hotel receptionist was not welcoming, just ignoring people who come in the hotel. I was with a friend and have waited more than 3 hours just to be checked in_ just sitting in the lobby, this lady wouldn't give any updates as to when our room is going to be ready, when i asked the manager what time will the room be available she just said, ”what to do we dont have any rooms available,” and wouldn't give a timeframe and was even told ”excuse me, we have a line” when we were not even finished talking to her to get rid of us. we did not wait for that long just to be kicked out that way, that was very rude. I tried to get their names, but they both covered it and hid their name plates, and this spanish manager rudely handed calling cards of all their superior employees and told me to call them. (no offense to other spanish people,i have spanish friends but not like her). The receptionist name was Shawnees.

I’ve booked my stay at this location for many years. I love the convenience and helpfulness from the staff!
