We parked our car between the restaurant and our room and never touched it again til time to leave. The Elk Cove experience begins with the view but blossoms to perfection with the food. After our first in-room dining session, on a night SIBO was dark, we continued with five more meals deliver expertly to small tables in the window seats of our Wave watcher suite. Why budge? For another, less spectacular, view of the Pacific coast? What is the point? Multiple walks through the Inn’s garden setting with Louie (Labradoodle) sniffing, gazing and frolicking with the house pack consumed the time we did not spend walking on the beach, tasting wine or reading/napping in the room. Such a special place to stay! Upon arrival we received a cute little gift basket with wine, cookies, and popcorn. And the complimentary breakfast exceeded expectations! I highly recommend the potato casserole. The view was beyond beautiful as well.

This is truly a special little Inn. Perched on the cliff side in Elk, it has spectacular views of the cove, easy beach assess. The hosts and staff are friendly, efficient, and accommodating. Every evening, there is a wine and cheese gathering. We greatly enjoyed eating at the restaurant and the breakfasts were delicious!

This is one of my favorite Inns to stay in the seclusive town of Elk, on the Mendicino coast. About 20 min drive south of the town of Mendicino. Elk Cove Inn is quiet, staff, especially Millissa and her assistant Vicrtor graciously welcomes you and wants you to enjoy your stay. I stayed in the upper floor corner suite offering the greatest privacy to enjoy the vast ocean view behind framed by a beach and rocks beyond the beach crashing the waves as they break toward shore. The beach is sparsely occupied so it’s like the Inn has its own private beach. I will be back again soon to get away from the hustle and bustle of civilized suburb living.

I can only describe this place as “charming” and it applies to both the inn and restaurant. Owners Melissa and Victor, as well as the efficient and friendly staff made sure that our visit to Mendocino county and Anderson Valley was special. We could have stayed in our room the whole time and enjoyed the view and goodies but Melissa gave us great recommendations for local wine tastings and scenery. Also our pups enjoyed the (almost private) beach walk each morning and evening. Finally, dining at Sibo was just a very enjoyable experience from the food to chatting with Melissa and Victor. We will definitely return again.

Our room at Elk Cove Inn was perched above their private cove beach accessible via a meandering path through a garden of California natives. We beach combed multiple varieties of seaweed and heart shaped rocks among the driftwood sculptures. At day's end, we relaxed to the sound of waves with the crescent moon peeking out of the clear night sky. The morning breakfast service is plentiful and tastely. Reluctantly we did not have dinner at the inn, since the restaurant was closed, but our neighbor in The Sea Ranch highly recommended it saying, the experience is akin to being in France. A wonderful romantic escape well worth the journey.
