Nice hotel, Located very close to Elk Grove where i needed to be. Staffs are very help full and rooms are really clean. Good breakfast to start your day. My room was cleaned again and room toiletry and amenities were refilled while i was gone in the day. Will stay here again.

I'll start with the good. The beds and pillows were comfy and the breakfast was fine. Staff was friendly. Now the not so good. The hotel was easily 90 degrees in the public areas. The decor in the hallways and room were dated, dingy, and in dire need of an upgrade. The outlets were loose and our plugs kept falling out, so there was no way to charge phones overnight. Garbage cans in public areas were overflowing with bags of garbage that were never removed. Finally, the lobby women's room was absolutely filthy. There were used paper towels and toilet paper piled up on the floor near the garbage cans, there were bugs in the bathroom, and two of the stalls had no toilet paper. This property could use some TLC.

This is a great example of putting nice lobby photos online but giving the guest the least luxurious stay possible. The room had not been updated to current brand specifications at all. The Hollywood frame bed left grease marks on clothing it touched, the carpet was old and grimy, none of the electrical outlets were usable (too loose to hold). The bathroom toilet was twenty years old if a day, the hairdryer on the wall was equally old and rickety. While management clearly put effort into the lobby they dropped the ball in every private space. Instead of blinds on the window our room had shutters—all or nothing. No overhead lighting and a fiberglass tub insert for a shower. As a Holiday Inn Express anyone should expect more—especially when this franchise is so specific on brand standards. Disappointed and I want a new pair of shoes without grease spots.

The room was nicely decorated with modern furniture. The bed was soft and comfy with a lot of pillows. The shower, however, was dirty with hair and black mold in it. There was only one towel in the bathroom as well. We were in the midst of a large rainstorm and in the morning the floor near the window was saturated with water. I informed the front desk at checkout and the young lady said they knew there was a leak. I don’t think I would stay there again.

A friend and i booked this hotel on the evening of the stay while traveling with a friend. I turned down other hotels that were less expensive to to stay at because they offered a double double room hover when we arrived there was no double double and we had to sleep together. I could have saved $40 and stayed at a nicer hotel with a king a few miles down the road but chose this stay splecifically because of the offered beds. The night clerk said that booking online did not insure that you would get the type of room you booked and to talk to the morning manager. Twice our keys had to be rekeyed as they did not work. One hand towel for two people in the room, **** smell enough to knock you out in the elevator. All in all not a positive stay. When i tried to discuss this with the desk both at night and in the morning the night clerk said talk to the day clerk. The day clerk just stared at me. She printed the reciept and handed it over without saying a word.

This hotel needs a good cleaning. Dirty carpets, tired wallpaper, and the nerve to charge a “facility fee” when the pool is closed, and by the looks of things has not been operational for months. (Pool was green) Try somewhere else.

Location, lobby and breakfast were all great! Employees very nice. Decaf coffee in lobby was always cold, even morning time. Mostly disappointed with room. New decor, but many maintenance problems ignored. Peeling wallpaper in corners, maybe from water damage. Bathroom tile very old with grout deteriorating. Shower head was unattached to wall and handheld showerhead (which I needed) was missing altogether. But the bathroom was super clean, so they get points for that.
