My first time staying at a red roof. Never again! I went into the room, and there was a horrible extremely strong odor. no toilet paper. The non-skid strips in the tub were lifting and look dirty. Went downstairs asked for toilet paper and asked what the smell was in the room and Erica told me that was from cleaning and sanitizing. It did not smell anything near a cleaning product. The fan would not work so I could not circulate the air nor open any windows. Left the main door open to try to get some of that smell out. they never offered to move me to a different room. All the other hotels in the area were booked so we couldn't change hotels. The next day, my significant others asthma was horrifically acting up and it was due to whatever was in that room that they were trying to mask. when we were leaving, we passed one of the cleaning ladies cleaning a room and it smelled like Pine-Sol, which is a cleaning product. Our room smelled nothing like that. When I went to check out, I saw a case of what appeared to be sprays of air freshener. I called to complain regarding this, and Erica told me that they had to used a spray some chemical to cover up that someone previously smoked in that room. I got upset and she told me that David the general manager will call me back. I left a few messages and every time I called she said she would transfer to his line. She didn't know if he was there. there was no answer nor a call back. I called back the next day and I thought it was her again and this time she said her name is Sarah yet she sounded just like Erica. then I found out through the customer service line that Erica was the manager of the location as she was the only one at this location today. So Erica the manager right out lied to me! UNacceptable Definitely hate being lied to, and I don't recommend this place especially if you have breathing problems.
