Aqua Nicaragua

The facilities are in poor condition and completely neglected. Customer service is terrible; the receptionist left me talking to myself and didn't offer any solutions when the room's air conditioning didn't work. The cabin had rotten parts, and the balcony was missing a guard. This is definitely not a hotel to recommend.

Aqua Resort was a huge disappointment. I went expecting a peaceful, relaxing getaway by the ocean, a chance to unplug and enjoy nature. What I got was the complete opposite. During my stay, the resort was hosting some kind of commercial event. There were big branded banners all over the beach, loud music blasting from early morning until nearly midnight, and people partying late into the night. It was impossible to relax. The whole atmosphere felt chaotic and totally out of place for what’s supposed to be a nature-focused retreat. To make things worse, the next morning the beach was littered with trash—beer bottles, cups, food containers, and all kinds of junk just left behind. It honestly looked like a party cleanup crew never showed up. Seeing that first thing in the morning just added to how stressful and disappointing the whole trip was. This was not what I signed up for, and definitely not worth the money. If you’re looking for quiet, peace, or any kind of relaxing experience, I highly recommend staying far away from this place. I won’t be coming back.

Tranquil Retreat I had a great experience at Aqua. The staff were accommodating and welcoming. The cabins are beautiful, hearing the trees dance in the wind and the waves on the shore- you cannot bet that. The beach itself is amazing and sunsets are in perfect view. Very happy with my stay and would highly recommend.

Fantastic Amazing resort with excellent service. Only suggestion is firmer beds and either more pillows or better ones.

Unique Stay in Nicaragua I booked Aqua Resort at the end of a week long active trip in Nicaragua to relax and unwind. Overall it was a nice stay as long as you are aware of a few things. Pros: The view from my suite (Sapote LS) was one of the most beautiful sights I've seen with clear view of the ocean. The plunge pool was perfect for the hot temps. The room was spacious and there was an additional room/kitchen if you want to prepare your own food. The beach was private and so pretty. I enjoyed the restaurant although it is expensive for Nicaragua. Playa Gigante is about a 30 min walk if you want cheaper options for food/drinks. The service was great. I was able to reach the front desk via WhatsApp and they tried to quickly resolve issues. Cons: If you do not like or cannot do many stairs, you will have trouble at this hotel. But it is a treehouse set up so that is to be expected. If you do not like nature this may not be the hotel for you. I encountered monkeys, raccoons, scorpions and other wildlife but again you are in the trees. My main issue was my A/C did not work well which made for uncomfortable sleep when its 85 degrees at night. They tried to fix it but it only temporarily improved. For the price of the room this should not be an issue. I also felt they could have had better toiletries in room for the price. I would stay again if they worked out some of the kinks. It truly is a unique place.
