We'll rank this hotel on a scale of 1-10 based on the following: Location, Accommodations, Amenities, and Food Quality. Location: 10. This hotel is nestled right in front of Playa Las Flores beach. There is literally a world class surf break right in front of the hotel. The beach is also flat and long, providing an equally pleasant experience for young children. The best of both worlds in El Salvador. Accommodations: 8. The hotel has a modern design and aesthetic. We stayed in room 11 and the size was perfect for our family. Lauren and I had our own room with a king size bed. The boys were in the second bedroom with two full beds. Each room had an en suite bathroom. Amenities: 7. There were surprisingly few amenities. An OK main pool, jacuzzi that didn't work, swim up bar with exposed concrete, visible mold near one end, and a large open filter hole. Food Quality: 6. The hotel rate includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This is a great deal for surfers looking for a great location/value. However, the food isn't very good. Furthermore, many of the items weren't available. Service level was amazing, but what was served wasn't memorable. One note - the last night was "El Salvadorian food night." This food was so good. Maybe stick to serving local food/dishes? This place is an 8 for surfers. I would rate it a 7 for families. The long, flat beach with manageable currents is a plus for young swimmers. Otherwise, I would say it's a 6 for families. Overall, this place feels like it needs a bit of love. It's beginning to show its age and needs a face lift. It's important to note The El Cuco area is in the early stages of development. So, the off-premise entertainment and food options are limited at best. This is not El Trunco. YMMV.

The Las Flores property in El Salvador is not a luxury resort and the information presented on their website is inaccurate, misleading, and deceptive. My family was unfortunately not in a position to change our travel plans after arrival or otherwise would have left. Had the property been accurately presented, we would not have considered booking there. The result of the deceptive presentation of this property resulted in significant financial implications for my family, which included the total cost outlay to Henry Morales at Wavehunters, the booking agent, for 6 nights of accommodations in addition to the cost of airline tickets from Canada to El Salvador return. To be blunt, had the property been advertised truthfully and accurately, and had they charged a quarter of the advertised rate, we would not have chosen to stay there. Before overviewing the concerns, what where the positives? The staff were pleasant. Several staff in the dining area in particular were very friendly, helpful and engaging. The food was ok, though inconsistent. The beach and ocean was enjoyable and easy to access. Surfing was accessible for a range of abilities. Conditions of property - The property is in a state of deterioration and disrepair. o The property presented in images and descriptions on the website are deceptive. The property may have at one time been considered luxury. It has not been for many years given the advanced state of deterioration and decay. o Half the property was not in use. Upper sections/platforms had no seating or amenities for guests to use. o Rooms were filthy. o Textiles throughout the entire property, including bed linens, couch covers, towels and beach/pool pads were covered in stains, without exception. Outdoor seating appeared to be 'taken in' at night but put back out in the morning dirty, stained, and often with bird droppings still set in from previous days. o On arrival, our shower did not work. The handle to the shower was not attached to be able to turn water on. Several requests had to be made to have this repaired. o The bathroom sink leaked. Never fixed. o The bathroom sink could not hold water; multiple requests for a stopper that was never addressed. o Air conditioning unit in bedroom leaked causing mattress to become soaked and water on floor. o General deterioration of fixtures throughout property; no working lights on sections of steeps stairs to rooms creating a trip/fall hazard in the dark at night, railings alongside stairs throughout property old and flimsy, easily could have broken resulting in injury, property was faded, chipped and pealing and overall unclean throughout. Exposed electrical wires throughout property. - Rooms were sparse, not comfortable and not outfitted with “luxury” furnishings. o Beds had one sheet and flimsy cover. Not a luxury sleeping experience. o No mirrors in entirety of two bedroom unit outside of the mirror the vanity in the bathroom. o Poor lighting with only several very bri

I traveled here for a seven night stay with my 20yo son as a surf trip. The price per night included food, gratuity, three (adult) drinks a day and no hidden fees which was great! Flights were easy and the San Salvador airport was very nice. Booking was easy and arranging transfer from the airport was easy with a comfortable air conditioned van. I have had some sketchy dangerous transports before in other countries. We stayed in room 15, a premium double. It was large and comfortable and clean. Beds were very comfortable. AC worked great. Plumbing worked great. We had an unobstructed view of the surf spot. The staff were super friendly and attentive and most were fluent in English. They were accommodating to your every request and genuinely concerned with your wellbeing during the stay. The restaurant was great, comfortable and clean with a front row view of the surf. Self service coffee and juice all day. Plenty of filtered water at stations throughout the resort. The food was outstanding, with multiple options from light and healthy to rich and decadent based on your taste and mood. Breakfast and lunch are from a menu and dinners were pre fixe. I enjoyed all the options each day. I’m vegetarian, and they have a full vegetarian menu. When the fixed dinner didn’t appeal to me the kitchen made me something of my choice. There were two excellent all you can eat buffets, one traditional Salvadoran food, and one seafood buffet where they grill your choice of fish, squid, shrimp, octopus in front of you. We were there in early June and the surf was good every day all day. It is very easy to organize a boat for a 20-40 min trip to multiple other spots nearby if you wish. In summary, if you like a resort with good food and relaxing beautiful surroundings where you can relax for a week with no concerns, surf every day, and be pampered with food and drink, I don’t think you will find anything better.

We haven't got there yet , and am finding out ,what is should be "all inclusive" is NOT. Apparently after the 3rd drink , $ chaching. They charge you extra...so ; why did they label it as " all inclusive " when is NOT. We'll find out soon enough. Is Like telling " all you can eat " and they don't give you but a plate of bread and a plate of salad. WTH ???

Really great place in remote area of El Salvador. Super relaxing, great access to a mostly private beach, fun surfing (and great surf coach), very good food and beautiful views. Everything you want in a beach vacation!

Vale a pena!!!

Had a lot of hype from reviews and recommendations from friends. First disappointment came with the reservation when they indicated the jacuzzi in the room was not working and offered a discount (rate a was still $504). At the pool had a hard time getting servers to take orders. Basically had to walk to them to order. After complaining they ask how frequent they should come… there were no umbrellas because they were ruin with the wind. Wi-Fi was irregular and the indicated there were waiting on the supplier to get it fixed. Ordered lunch and there was no sea food ( a good part of the menu was not available). Pool was dirty and look like it lack maintenance. When we complained the staff apologized and said they were going to fix all of the issues but offered no compensation. Very disappointed! Management should get involved as I assume we were in an off day.
