Oceana Resort & Conventions

I have had prior experiences with hotels that do not meet expectations, but this is borderline a scam. The hotel is marketed as a higher-end all-inclusive beach resort, but it is not what it advertises. Let me go point by point. Although it is supposedly a beach resort, the beach is unusable. It is rough and has rip currents. The beach is littered with plastic and glass debris. There is nothing to do in the area; many abandoned houses around it. The location is desolate, not in a good way. They serve cafeteria-quality food. When we arrived on a Saturday, the place was packed with people, with just leftover food that looked gross. To be fair, the breakfast was good, and the food in the restaurants you needed to reserve for was edible, yet not up to standards for the price tag. The hotel was generally clean but small, and there were no available activities. We walked the beach and spent a couple of hours in the small pool near our room, but we spent most of the time inside our room, as there was no point getting out of it, as there was nothing to do. It appears management wants to turn a quick buck and not have any concerns about their guests and their experience. Over the weekend, the hotel was overrun with people with day passes, and on the subsequent weekdays with corporate events, there were so many people that there was no space in the main pool. We tried to leave at least a day earlier, but the hotel refused multiple times to give us a refund for the days we were not going to use. Finally, we got the management's attention once the concierge of the credit card company reached out to them, but it was already too late in the afternoon before our check-out day. In hindsight, we should have forgo our money to avoid further frustrations and go elsewhere. Additionally, the cleaning crew makes tons of noise at all hours of the day and night, and I was woken up a couple of times by the noise. On the positive side, I have to say that the staff was extremely polite and pleasant. They are very hardworking people, always with a smile on their faces.

Fun in the sun Had a great time. They had great activities throughout the two days. Food was great. Bartenders and staff were awesome. Especially Marcony, the bartender made us feel like family. Thank you Oceana

DO NOT BOOK HERE. So we have a family trip planned for here in two weeks. Total spend about 1500 a room and about 8 rooms. So we are spending 10,000 usd. 1) They do not allow any cancellations or refunds. 2) Their communication sucks. I emailed them on March 3rd. No response. Follow up on March 8th and they finally respond on March 10th. Send another email on March 11th and get a response on March 17th telling me to reschedule out to someone on WhatsApp. I message them and I get no response on WhatsApp from their concierge. I have to send a follow up email and then the concierge responds with very little detail. Also their WhatsApp automated system is terrible. 3) Finally they do not coordinate pick up or drop off from the airport. After spending 10,000 usd expect a lot of frustration. Wish I had never booked here. After being there I was disappointed with the quality of food. There was also limited activities to do on the resort.

Oceana Resort is beautiful place, the wait staff is very friendly, accommodating, eager to satisfy your needs. However, I do have one observation (which I share wi management) the fact that there is no servers at the pools is very inconvenient, not everyone is willing to seat at the bar for hours, but instead choose to have drinks throughout the day. It gave me impression that this model was to discourage or minimize consumption of food and drink. For an all inclusive, some people do not get what they paid for. I am writing to express my disappointment during my recent stay at Oceana. While the property is beautiful, my experience was marred by a dirty room and a theft of money from my bag by a staff member. Despite reporting the incident, I have yet to receive any follow-up regarding the investigation. Additionally, the lack of room service and the poor quality of the buffet food, which had hairs on several dishes, further contributed to my dissatisfaction. Overall, my stay did not meet my expectations for the price paid. I hope this feedback is helpful.

Loved it with the exception of checking/out. Checking in was a super slow process. This needs to be improved asap. Bigger signs indicating where one can check in or pick up keys need to be made bigger for public to see. Overall stay was excellent with the check in exception,
