The Gringo Perdido has something for everyone: cheaper rooms for hippies, backpackers, and young families --- and deluxe suites for a more upscale experience. I'm sorry to say that Lola (black Labrador mascot) was always sleeping but we were enamored by Antonella (black kitty cat with pink collar) who greeted us upon arrival and she even followed us into our room. So cute, lovable and I wanted to take her home with us! Room #201 was spacious and comfortable with two queen beds and a huge bathroom. I estimate it was 500 square feet (not counting the huge deck with Jacuzzi spa). The room had Air conditioning and they provided purified water. Our room rate included dinner and breakfast. All of the meals were excellent. The staff provided excellent service. We saw howler monkeys on the premises. The only thing that gave us disappointment was having to leave. It's probably the nicest lodging we had in Guatemala (and we stayed in many deluxe places).

Considero que el Hotel Gringo Perdido es el mejor hotel para tener una experiencia completa de Petén. Su ubicación en el lago Petén Itzá es excelente. Todo el personal del hotel fue muy amable. La comida es muy buena. Las habitaciones estaban muy limpias y las camas son muy cómodas. Las áreas en común del comedor, el muelle, la piscina, las hamacas, la recepción y las diferentes salas invitan a que uno regrese al hotel cada vez que vaya a Petén.

Die Zimmer sind sehr, sehr schlicht aber blitzsauber. Die Klimaanlage ist flüsterleise, nachts sehr angenehm. Dusche und Toilette sind auch sehr einfach aber ebenfalls sauber. Wir hatten das Zimmer mit Terasse direkt am See, umrandet vom Uferwald. Das war einfach traumhaft. Die Speiseterasse hat direkten Blick auf den See und auf dem Holzofen stehen immer Kessel mit Kaffee und heißem Wasser für Tee. Kann man sich beides einfach nehmen. Frühstück und Abendessen sind sehr lecker, da muss man sich am See nichts anderes suchen. Das Hotel legt großen Wert auf Nachhaltigkeit und das merkt man an allem. Uns hat nichts gefehlt und es waren auf unserer Reise 2 Tage um runter zu kommen.

Fantastisch!!!! Je komt hier in een soort van bubble die echt heerlijk is. Schone kamers, heerlijk meer waar je in kunt zwemmen. (Kano, Sup en vlot/ speeltoestel) Bediening/ service is voor Guatemaalse begrippen heel goed. Echt een aanrader!

Unique lakeside resort for every budget
We loved everything about this small boutique resort hotel. Excellent food is served in the restaurant, great service from the staff. My only complaint is that Antonella the cute black kitty cat is way too trusting and follows the guests into the room --- someone is going to kidnap her and take her home (as a souvenir, hahaha).
The property has a variety of room types and prices vary enough so it's affordable for the hippies and backpackers with children, yet there are some private suites and bungalows for a more upscale experience.
The saddest part about coming here is having to leave this place!

Un lugar muy bonito y tranquilo! Los empleados son muy amables y útiles - mi novia y yo tenemos alergias, y todo la comida estaba segura para nosotros y tambien muy deliciosa! Gracias a Johannes por su ayuda. Vamos a regresar algun dia. Nos encanta el perro Lola tambien!
