Unser Aufenthalt im Hotel Hirschen und Restaurant waren einfach perfekt. Von Anfang an wurden wir herzlich empfangen und fühlten uns sofort wohl. Alle und insbesonder die Gastgeber war durchweg zuvorkommend und flexibel, sodass keine Wünsche offenblieben. Das Zimmer überzeugte mit einem schönen Stil und seinem gemütlichen Ambiente, das zur charmanten Atmosphäre des Hauses beiträgt. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns das sehr gute Essen – die Küche zauberte wahre Gaumenfreuden, die wir lange in Erinnerung behalten werden. Ein grosser Dank an alle vom Team. Wer in Eglisau ist, muss unbedingt einen Besuch im Hotel oder Restaurant Hirschen machen – es lohnt sich!

Staff are amazingly nice and cooperative. Really old / Authentic and historic hotel but so clean and excellently maintained !

A true gem!
So happy to have found this gem of a hotel! A historic, 500 year old building on the banks of the Rhine. The room was very comfortable and the staff extremely friendly and accommodating. I would definitely go back! A few things to be aware of: there is no elevator, a taxi or Uber between Eglisau and the Zurich airport cost between 50 and 100 Swiss francs, and the restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. But all in all, a lovely, relaxing place, so different from Zurich.

We stayed in this delightful hotel the night before our flight back home. Even though we checked in late and checked out early, we enjoyed the accommodations. The hotel is in an old building with gorgeous wood floors and updated amenities, including a spacious bathroom. The communication from the hotel was prompt and helpful, and I recommend staying here.

We were able to have our delicious lunch outside in the most beautiful location right on the banks of the Rhine (at the landing stage). Service extremely friendly, competent and kind. Interesting and unusual menu, mixed between traditional cuisine and new variations. Everything very fresh and nicely prepared. We will definitely be back!

The Gasthof Hirschen is not only very quietly located directly on the Rhine, the historic rooms have been restored with Swiss perfection and the staff is extremely friendly and courteous. We'll be back!
