Location was perfect for our needs, near to beautiful Yarm! The amenities were good and a dip in the pool was perfect after a hot day! Overall cleanliness was good, just needed a few touch up here and there, tiles missing in spa area a Nd our bathroom looked tired! Disappointed that there was no compensation for broken key card machine and we found this unnerving as it felt very ‘big brother’ being tracked on our every move! A drink at dinner, complimentary breakfasts or bar meal would have been a nice gesture!

The manager and staff are always making sure the spa facilities are clean and well maintained. A member who has been using the facilities a while told me its drastically improved since new management and as a new member I find all staff helpful.

We were here in May to celebrate our daughter and son in laws silver wedding who had there wedding reception here. 25 years ago it was lovely. Not so today. The food was terrible. Freezers broken so very limited menu. We were promised drinks on the house which we didn’t get. Quality of food so poor I wouldn’t have fed to the cat. Dining room not very clean and a bit canteenish. Formica tables and no tablecloths. Won’t be going back.

My first time in the area visiting some family who have recently moved locally, we found the hotel to be pleasant. The staff were all very welcoming and made us feel at home. Especially Joanne in housekeeping who was on hand when we checked in to chow us to our room. There was a wedding on at the time but this didn’t spoil our time in the venue when our friends came to join us for dinner. The food was all well presented and large portions. We used the spa the following morning which was a nice treat with music playing poolside it was a nice relaxing touch after one to many cocktails in the bar the night before. We will definitely make this our place to stay when in the area.

I'm a member and have been for 2 years I mainly use the pool and for the monthly payment I pay I don't think it is worth it ( a price decrease is needed) as the facilities need a good up grade the jacuzzi never works the changing rooms are not great the gym is small enough and ok I could go elsewhere where and pay less. During the week it's like a child's play ground with swimming lessons. ( isn't this a hotel and spa to go and relax? ) if I wanted to listen to kids splashing around I would go to splash the public swimming baths and to be honest for half the price I can get the same as what I have now. And when there is a load of kids swimming, there isnt much room to swim as the pool isnt that big. The reason I'm staying is because it local and easy to get to. so for now I'll put up with the poor facilities and kids.

Would not recommend the spa i have came here a few times the jacuzzi gets advertised online and on signs and what have you but it doesn't work its been off for coming up 8 months now the company aren't doing anything to fix it either such a shame for the members also paying a price for not what is even advertised or for the full access Afternoon tea with facilities, the spa advertisements all show someone in the jacuzzi with a bottle of prosseco but the thing doesn't even work

Stay away from this hotel. It is possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The bedroom was simply awful, but the breakfast and breakfast service was even worse. Imagine the waiter brushing the crumbs off the table (with his bare hands), not onto the floor, but onto guests chairs. The English breakfast was missing items every single day. There was no butter for several days during my five day stay. The bath in my room was not secured and dropped by approx 25mm when loaded. The plug socket in my room was downright dangerous, and the hotel mens bathroom was flooded. The room only gets serviced once every two days, and the hotel supplied toiletries are ok if you are just washing your hands.

The breakfast was awful. The beds have dips and you feel like you are going to roll out, and pillows are like rocks. The rooms still have climb into bath to get a shower facilities in a suite, and are very dated. Very hot rooms, with a fan available. No water and hard to fill the kettle from the sink. At breakfast there was no coffee or tea despite me asking. Serve yourself with the cheapest bread for toast from a household toaster. But the cooked breakfast was truly awful. Solid cold poached eggs, solid cold (tinned?) sausages, scrambled egg which I think was powered, no avocado. Everything was cold. Left loads of food and no comments. I was asked as I checked out, and gave them this feedback and was told, perhaps we can do better next time...l would have to return to be a next time! Such a shame been going on and off for work for 20+ years, but no more, go to the premier inn, or a guest house, got to be better!
