Food took ages to come out despite not being busy. Food was the worst food I’ve ever been served. Plenty of better places in the village to eat.

Excellent Sunday roast, good choice of vegetables and lovely tender beef, Yorkshire pudding light and tasty. Chocolate brownie sundae was delicious. Lovely old pub very clean and friendly staff. Plenty of choice on the menu. Certainly go back!

Great Stay But Amazing Food Lovely stay but made amazing by the Chefs. If you have the opportunity to visit be sure to have one of their specialty burgers - Salt & Pepper Chicken Burger or the Lamb Feta Burger. Both amazing and on my top 10 of best evers.

Called in for food on a work trip and was unfortunately really disappointed with the quality of the food served I chose the herbivore halloumi patty thinking the side salad and veggi nature may be my best bet . I was served a deep fried piece of cheese on a burnt roll with one piece of completely wilted lettuce leaf and a soggy mushroom which leached water into the bottom bun The side salad consisted of coleslaw swimming in pink mayonnaise The staff came towards the table to ask how it was but I didn't get get chance to say no before they had turned away and dissapeared round the corner Perhaps it was an off night or having the veggi choice but I haven't been so disappointed in a meal for a very long time

Very small room, very dated layout. DIY b/fast, milk off. Cafitiere in bits & dirty. Had to clean, coffee, not pleasant. Mattress very uncomfortable, springs felt. Not worth £95. Loud banging heard during night, did not sleep well at all. Odd set up. Vendor offered no refund. Despite photos being sent of issues, very poor No loo roll or tissues!

Lovely old world village coaching house, full of character that you would expect in an old property. Fabulous food & very generous portions, Sunday lunch & breakfast are exceptional. Well stocked bar with a good range of traditional ales. Ample car parking & free wi-fi. Central location makes it ideal for exploring the village & yet only five miles from M6 junction 14. And finally, the managers & staff are great hosts and go out of their way to make your stay a very pleasant experience.

Not great! Very dated small room. Alot of noise from pub below. No spare toilet roll & tissue box, practically empty 😢. Mattress uncomfortable, you could feel springs. Help yourself b/fast was not expected! Cafitiere plungerwas in pieces, managed to put back together. Dirty, cleaned it. Milk curlded in coffee. Small portable fridge used for it. Odd set up with one sitting room type entry leading to all rooms. Thermostat for heating in there too, manually operated. Not my idea of comfort. Reviews state very good+. Do not agree with this. Pub is very old. Could do we with modernisation. Didn't sleep well at all. Took photos of issues.

If you’re looking for a pub that serves underwhelming food with the enthusiasm of a teenager, look no further. What used to be a 100% go to for nice meal has somehow become a crime against hospitality. The food arrived looking as if someone had given up halfway through plating. No care, no effort, just an insult on a plate. If first impressions count, this one screamed, "We don’t care, and neither should you." A simple snack of a bowl of chips on a Saturday afternoon turned into an exercise in disgust. The chips were very clearly reheated, perhaps even twice reheated, and had an off putting taste, as if fried in dirty oil. Then to add insult to injury I found the brown gunky stuff in the picture nestling underneath them all. And let’s not forget the service. When I ordered, I had a faint hope that they might at least pretend to care. Instead, I was met with indifference, staff walked past, clearly able to see the dark chunks I had fished out of the bowl but failed to approach, and when questioned offered a replacement, but little else, electing to wander off instead... Do yourself a favour and find somewhere that values your time, money and taste buds. This is such a shame as, up until recently, I would have always recommended the Kings Arms for tasty and generously portioned plate. Now though the food is so very lacking in quality and consistency that I cannot recommend it even slightly.
