This is my review of the Exeter Arms Accommodation. I have written a separate one for the food. We arrived at The Exeter Arms, where there is a large adjacent car park, to a warm and friendly greeting. We were offered assistance with our bags, which we didn’t expect as they are not a hotel but a restaurant with rooms and were shown to our room by the enthusiastic Gary who was part of the ‘family’ - the passionate and talented team that create the magic at the Exeter Arms. We stayed for one night in The Espresso Martini room which was at the top of a short flight of stairs just off the main building. I fell in love with the room straight away. It had everything that I look for – a large comfortable bed, a good shower and everything was clean. It had been newly refurbished and had a great modern feel. Of course, the addition of two complimentary Espresso Martini’s together with a cocktail shaker so that you could make your own or take them to the bar to have them expertly made was a lovely addition. A coffee machine as well as a kettle gave the room more of a luxurious feel. Both my husband and I slept well after an excellent meal (see separate review) and, if the kitchen hadn’t accidentally salted our breakfasts twice, this would have been a perfect stay. All the staff were welcoming and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I have already booked to stay again in November.
