**Avoid if need an accessible room ** Stayed here as needed a bed for the night before a cruise . Premier inn usually meet our needs but not in this case. Disabled room was booked, what a disappointment !! Room on ground floor with good access to restaurant and car park. Check in not the best, one person trying to look after loads of guests, lack of working machines causing an issue. No problem with food or bar, nice touch with water and ice pops available whilst you wait to check in as was very hot Room itself was awful. As soon as we opened the door the smell of smoke and stale air hit us. My husband has a number of health issues and breathing is one of them. Not a good start ! We then checked out the bathroom. Very long bath with some grab rails but completely unuseable for us. Not able to climb into bath or get out. We are used to wet rooms with a seat as he cannot stand for long. The door was a sliding door, very heavy and screeching and I could barely move so no privacy at all. We then discovered that the TV didn't work, no remote control. I got one of the duty managers to come to the room. He agreed it smelled of smoke and stale and that someone has smoked in there. They had used some sort of bomb to clear it but clearly hadn't worked. Agreed to my issues re bathroom but said nothing he could do. Hotel was completely full and couldn't move us so we had no choice but to stay there. And the remote was missing for the TV, sorry don't have a spare, we should have got one really was the response. So a very early night. I understand that the hotel was busy but this was pure negligence and very frustrating. Room clearly hadn't been checked before we arrived. They used to have a Good Night guarantee there, clearly didn't apply in this case . Friday nights are always the busiest and prices reflect this. Just don't bother !
