Galena The property was nice however it was located right on Hwy 20 and it was very noisy. The window air conditioners ( that were not needed) did not allow the window to be closed and therefore limit the noise.

Perfect! Comfy, cozy, and perfect walking location to all the Galena attractions. Very reasonable rates, too!

Would definitely stay here again. Great location. Beautiful old home. The part of the house that this listing is, is located on the second floor. Stairs are steep and narrow. The rooms are large and furnished with vintage and antique furniture. It is very cozy.

Amazing experience and location in cozy, historic home. I cannot say enough good things about this property and it's caretakers! It is a beautiful old historic home with it's original staircase. It was cozy and clean, and had so many thoughtful amenities that made it clear the owners were happy we were there! Fresh and soft towels, a welcome bag with treats and lovely smelling soaps, super comfy beds with several pillows, games to play, neat books to read, a plethora of brochures and travel guides to the area....even some ear plugs in case the trains passing through Galena made it difficult to sleep. So thoughtful! We were so grateful for the mini fridge, Keurig and variety of yummy teas, too. The only negative thing I would mention is that the house is on a busy street and can be a bit noisy at night, however, it would be way worse at a hotel downtown I'd imagine! It never got too bad, but with earplugs in, we slept very well and soundly, and it was TOTALLY worth it for the location! We were super close to the gorgeous walking bridge that crosses the river, and just a 3 minute walk to downtown. It was super handy going shopping and being able to come home to leave our treasures, take a quick nap, and head back out! They were also super accommodating when we got into town earlier than expected and allowed us to park/check in a bit early. LOVED this place-we'll definitely be back!

Historic house with charm The house was clean and the rooms are nicely furnished. A lot of little extras and coffee was appreciated. Very close to the main drag in Galena. Property manager/owner was very responsive and accommodating. One thing for a renter to know in the summer is that the bathroom is down the hall from the bedrooms and has no air conditioning. Since our stay was in August, it was an inconvenience and very hot to shower and get ready in the bathroom. We showered there and then had to get ready in our bedrooms because of the heat.
