Just three ladies traveling together. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Le Chambord. We each had a room which took us back to a refined time. Everyone there was very helpful and friendly. They made our one night stay very enjoyable even bringing us wine glasses to enjoy the wine and snacks we had brought with us. We are thinking of coming back and staying longer to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere.

The whole experience was a bit odd. We got several calls asking when we'd be arriving -- the front desk person clearly wanted to go home (we arrived at 8:30, so it wasn't crazy late.) The room was cold and smelled a bit musty. The breakfast was not at all what you would expect from a place with a nice restaurant. First, they got the time wrong and delivered it 20 minutes later than we requested (following a phone call). The breakfast was delivered to the room, even though there was no table to eat on, only a desk. Then, the oatmeal turned out to be the instant stuff that was supposed to be added to a paper coffee cup of hot water (and it wasn't even the correct amount of water). The coffee was also in paper cups. I've stayed in plenty of B&Bs and hotels and never had this kind of experience. I wouldn't go back. The room was otherwise perfectly comfortable and was clean.

Actually, we have stayed here several times and it was always wonderful. It fits in well with our road trip routes as a stopover heading South from Cape Cod where we live (we hate Route 95 so take this route). It's an easy stop off Route 84 and the Taconic, yet so quiet and peaceful. The place is basically an event venue, and yet as an inn (speaking as a former innkeeper) regular guests are greeted warmly and well taken care of. Email questions prior to arrival are quickly responded to, and they do everything they can to make your prospective stay perfect. The restaurant is excellent and has one of the best Sunday brunches I've ever eaten. The rooms could probably use a little upgrade and yet they are perfectly clean and comfortable. I am so happy we discovered this place!

Hudson Valley restaurant week gives us a chance to discover restaurants that we never have experienced before. Such is the case here, and we were extremely glad we did. The charm of a Victorian estate set the tone of the evening. Perfect for special occasions as well. The staff & service were topnotch. Our dishes were prepared and presented flawlessly. Portions were surprisingly generous. Refreshing to find a venue that actually cares about quality. Most definitely will return....would love to attend a wedding or event here.

I reserved several rooms for family members who were coming in for my son's graduation from West Point (45 minute drive). My wife and I only stayed one night after the ceremony but the rest of our families stayed for four nights. Every one of us absolutely loved our stay! Beautiful 19th century main house/restaurant/bar and huge, comfortable rooms up the hill at the inn. The food was great, staff was amazing and the basement bar was fun. The inn is owned by five sisters, at least one of whom lives in the main building so I'm not sure about the people complaining about no staff on hand. The sisters we ran into were friendly and welcoming and available anytime we needed anything. I would highly recommend Le Chambord if you need a place to stay in the area!

We stayed an unhappy night in this small hotel. We lost a few hours of sleep to rowdy guests partying in the reception area, starting after midnight. There was no staff on duty at night. The in-room telephone was dead. I finally sent the partiers off to bed myself. I absorbed the cost of taking care of guest problems, which the management wasn't prepared to do, evidently. There are often hotel guests that need some help with their behavior. But I've never had to address them myself. I have had no explanation, no response at all to my expressed complaints.

We went to celebrate my wife's retirement with close friends during Restaurant Week. In a nutshell... I've had better at less expensive establishments. The French Onion Soup was okay, but lacked seasoning. The Duck Confit had good flavor, but should have been brined better to make the meat more tender. I was told the Creme Brulee was a classic... in truth it was flavorless. Chef definitely left out the vanilla bean paste and MAYBE opted for the smallest of drops of vanilla extract. Our server said he could memorize 15 items - 3 course Restaurant Week meal - 5 people. Unfortunately he had take our order three times... just to be sure. LOL Dude... WRITE IT DOWN! All in all, the diners at my table were far better than the food.

We decided to try the new Restaurant 6 basically because of their great menu for Restaurant week. We weren't disappointed. Service was Excellent, above & beyond, very attentive. The vegetable risotto was the best either of us had ever had. Potato leek soup was soup of the day. My partner's favorite & he said it was good. Escargot was good but neither of us could taste the garlic, so for us it could have used a little more garlic. Lamb & roasted vegetables & potatoes were perfect. I ordered the lamb med well but should have ordered it rare to med but that was my fault. It was tender, well seasoned. Coffee & desert were of the same caliber, excellent. So glad we decided to try it & can't wait to go back for the regular menu.

Room was very spacious will good lighting and a full sitting area. (Only negative was that the floor was quite cold in the bathroom). Nice public area with fireplace and games. Friendly low-key staff. The breakfast (included in the price) was outstanding; although it was labelled as "continental", there were hard-boiled eggs and hot cereal. Also, several freshly baked pastries, various fruits, juices, bagels/toasts, and more, freshly served in an elegant small dining room with white table cloths and fresh flowers. Really made the place special.
