Highline Vail - a DoubleTree by Hilton

Going to Weir to see the snow, chose this relatively cost-effective hotel, we chose a loft room, upstairs bedroom bathroom, the living room on the first floor has a fireplace, eat hot pot, and watch the snow outside is very warm. This place belongs to Westwell, a short distance from the center of Weir. There are many people skiing in the snow season, there is a Chinese restaurant next to it, Taiwanese opened, and the proprietress is very enthusiastic.

We botched our reservation online; our fault not theirs. The manager, Naveed Nur (sorry if I misspelled) was extremely helpful and accommodating. Kudos to him for his professional customer service skills! The property was clean, beds and linens the best, breakfast was hearty and staff were all friendly and helpful. Best Best Western I have ever stayed at!

If you've ever wanted a true ski-in/ski-out experience, then you need to stay here. They're not lying when they say it's the closest chairlift in North America. After picking up our skis and boots from the attendant, it was maybe, at most, a 20 second walk to the Strawberry lift. If you opened up your room window by the lift, you could hear the chatter of the skiers in line. We just booked our stay for this upcoming winter with them, and gladly paid more than some of the local hotels in that area because of the experience we had in February 2023. From the staff to the experience, everything was phenomenal. The breakfast each morning was amazing, and many options, so everyone had a choice of what they'd like. We had the larger room, I think they call it a deluxe, and it was a wonderful size, but possibly too big for us as we kept our skis with the attendant. The bed and accommodations were great, and if you prefer a little more room, go that route. The walk to Beaver Creek village was fine, and I think it took us about 2-3 minutes to get to the heart of the village, where there are more shops and restaurants over there. After going off site the first night, we realized there were plenty of options in the village, so we stayed in the village for the rest of our trip. The fact they have a ski valet and parking valet is a wonderful touch. It was so nice to come in from a day on the slopes and leave our stuff in their room with the valet. There he would clean our skis and dry our boots, and it was a wonderful touch, and we tipped generously for this service. Again, we pay more just to stay here, but it's so worth it. By the time I pay for another hotel and load up everyone to drive to the resort, and pay for parking, we happy to sacrifice some other things in order to stay here. And if you search early enough, you'll find pretty decent rates for the upcoming year, and if you're an Epic member, you'll get a discount for staying here. All in all, five stars and we look forward to our trip out there this year!

Although it is a long-opened hotel, it is much better than I expected. The facilities are complete and the room is clean. It is a great experience. There is a ski resort just outside the door. The breakfast is also super delicious.

It was quiet and I was able to stay calm. I think the staff education is wonderful. The room is very nice. The surroundings are relatively calm.

SO... My purpose of being there was to be close to where I was having surgery (in Vail). I was so looking forward to being in a luxurious hotel where I could enjoy the views and have a nurturing place to return to post surgery to start healing and doing Physical therapy. I was told that it was ”15 minutes to Vail and my clinic” - which was not the most comfortable way to get there - in a shuttle bus with many steps and cramped seating. Our room (I travelled with one of my dearest lifelong friends who also was my caregiver) was nice enough -one bedroom suite. It had 1 bathroom we shared - again that was OK. However, the room was the furthest (distance wise) room from the front of the hotel ! There would have been no way that I could have walked post surgery the distance. Also while we were there the elevators were down and only 1 was working. Between the large dogs running around and mothers with double-wide strollers - there was absolute craziness ! My special diet was not handled properly - instead of a ”Cauliflower steak” they served me STEAK with cauliflower. I basically could not eat for 2 days - not good for pre surgery. (they had heads up too!). That was pretty much the last straw - sealed by getting slammed in the foot by an aggressive mom who said as she got into the elevator ” I am coming in no matter what - room or not!” At that point, I had to get another hotel and move to a much better match for the remainder of my trip. I could not take a chance of someone running into me post joint replacement !!! Seems to be the place to be with your large dogs and children - not for a calm environment. Anyway, that was my experience. Hope y'all have a better time!
