Bonnie View Inn

Do not let anybody tell you that this property is anything more than a pub. It’s main concern and by the prices a main source of income. It is said in the early days a Scottish owners exclaimed “what a Bonnie view”… Today there is no view. There is a bar. Stretched almost the entire length of the view. Where loud music and noise drowns out any possibility of hearing a Loon on the lake from noon to well after dark. Packed with property owners and friends and locals wanting ridiculously expensive booze and equally expensive substandard pub food. There is a constant stream of bar workers running back and forth to the main lodge. The other side of the property is a beach full of large plastic towers and toys to further obstruct any pesky natural views. If you do choose to sit at the beach to try see the lake beyond you see a defunct derelict old lodge and a suburbia of cottages and boats. Further bookings are done by a myriad of young inexperienced workers. We were given two prices for our room, one $150.00 more than at booking. I got no confirmation email without several attempts and no person of management bothered to call me though several requests were made. Thankfully when we arrived the inexperience went on and we were given the original price. We arrived at check in to find a very loud live band ten feet from our door with the entire area packed with locals and guests drinking. Might have been nice to have been told about that at booking. The owner telling us “it’s on the website”. Ryan, not everybody is a social media groupie. The offer after a three hour drive was that they would just cancel the reservation for us. Or try find another place, one without a lake at all. I had told the person at reservation I was looking for some time away at a lake to rest after the difficult loss of my sister. What is up with child adults these days thinking anyone over 40 years old should be ignored, not considered and disrespected?

We had a fabulous time at Bonnie View again! It's our third year visiting and the vibe and service level has been consistently excellent! We particularly enjoyed the live music Wednesday on the Dockside patio restaurant.

Rustic charm with friendly staff Nice location. Quaint room. Fireplace was nice. Bed was comfy. Front desk personnel were friendly and accommodating.
