The staff were lovely! However we were placed in a room where the tv did not work, the window didn’t shut completely, and we had no hot water. The staff were amazing and the location was great if you have a car!

The Stones Hotel provided us with an enjoyable stay. Old Sarum is a couple of miles away and well worth a visit. The service was perfect, having checked in we asked to change our room, and it was changed without any problems. Service continued to be efficient and friendly during out stay. The food was pleasant too with a lot of choices including vegan options and this included our cooked breakfast. The well stocked bar also pleased us. Recommended if you are visiting Stonehenge (although there are closer hotels) or Salisbury. Given the horror stories in some of the reviews, I suspect worth checking ahead that the kitchen is open, assume if they have wedding receptions or other big events capacity is limited. But we had a lovely stay. Down sides? The coffee machine was broken but I guess this temporary. And would be improved by putting in an EV charger. However a lovely place to stay.

I booked way in advance but on arrival was told the hotel was full and there were no standard room available so I was shown to the staff quarters upstairs, with a room with just a bed in and shown the bathroom that was shared with 3 other rooms and told to watch if I go to the toilet in the night as all other rooms were occupied by staff I was sitting on the bed and this young girl just opened the door and walked in and said sorry I thought I was staying in here . I went down to reception to complain and receptionist said nothing I can do, you need to speak to my manager but she’s gone home and is not back until tomorrow at 9am Later on a colleague rang me to say he wasn’t travelling so won’t require his room, so went receptionist and told her my colleague is not using the room so can I move in to it , after much insistance on my part she finally agreed I move into 105 Wake up in morning and no hot water, so I go to reception, I say am in 105 and the guy says “no hot water” so I say oh you are aware , he says yes none of the ground floor or the kitchen has any hot water, I’ve called someone out but I clock off at 7an so it’s someone else’s problem then Breakfast opened at 06:30am so I was the first person in , the eggs were not pleasant and the melon is just laughable I paid £210 for this experience…..avoid if possible

We booked a room at the hotel and were given room 313 in the corner next to the fire escape on the 1st floor. The room itself was clean and tidy so no complaints there, my issues are that myself and my wife who are of an average build had too enter the room 1 at a time as it was a tight squeeze because of the queen size bed in the room, 2nd was we had too boil the kettle on the floor as there was no plug at the Tea and Coffee shelf in the room which was very unsafe and had the potential for an accident. 3rd there was no table for my wife to do her makeup or place her straighteners so they had to be on the floor and makeup done on bed. We don't ever complain but the money we paid for the room it should of had the essentials required. Yes people will say why didn't you change rooms, simple answer we paid the same as friends but didn't know until morning that there rooms were larger and more comfy.

I was a guest at Kathleen cooper's wedding vow renewal reception and the food and the staff really let a beautiful day down. There wasn't enough food to go around and I waited at the table for 30 minutes for the staff to refresh the buffet, the food was running out but not being replaced and the staff were very snappy and not at all helpful. I left the venue to get food as did many others, there was supposed to be enough food for 100 guests and about 20 didnt turn up but the buffet barely fed about 50. I know that Kathleen paid a lot of money for the venue and food but the catering really let her down.

Had a really good evening at The Stones Hotel. The venue was amazing and very professional. Food was very good and a good selection of drinks. The staff were a credit to the business and made us all feel welcome, especially the operations manager who was extremely lovely. Had the best night full of laughs and will visit again.

Sublime stay - very quiet rooms with nice views, new amenities, accessible by bus to Salisbury, Amesbury, or to Stonehenge by bike or car, and helpful kind staff and service! First class feel for value price. The food is also good - Salisbury steak is available along with good local ale although we had the butternut squash sotd.
