Very nicely decorated room with theme. Very impressive room inferior design and very cost. Aircon is provided and the room is very nice. Definitely come again. Close to town center and restaurants. Good price and good stay.

Tried here for the 1st time for Sunday lunch and it was fabulous. We are creatures of habit and tend to go to the same place for Sunday lunch. So pleased we went out of our comfort zone and found The Townhouse in Durham. On arrival we were given a complimentary dish of warm pork crackling. The food was outstanding and so well cooked and presented. I had the vegetable soup to start with the tastiest homemade croutons I've ever tasted. I then had the regular beef which was so plentiful and tasty. The beef melted in the mouth and love the fact it came with cauliflower cheese at no extra cost. The vegetables and yorkshire pudding were cooked to perfection. The hubby had the large beef which was extra helpings of all of the aforementioned tasty offerings. And not forgetting the super friendly, attentive waitress who made us so welcome. I deliberately left my sunglasses on the table when I left so I can come back again next week. Highly recommend.

My partner booked us the Town house for our engagement. From start to finish the staff at the town house were amazing at keeping it a secret. The room was gorgeous and breakfast was great! This place will definitely hold a place in my heart! Thank you for an amazing stay, we will definitely be back x

This place was absolutely amazing to stay at, I stayed here with my partner to celebrate our recent engagement and we had to most amazing experience. We got served our breakfast in our room which was the most perfect way to end our stay. The staff were outstanding and very quirky. Which matched the amazing decor. The room we stayed in had its own private hottub and it was all lovely and clean. It was overall the best place I’ve stayed to date and we will definitely be staying again. Thankyou to all the staff for an amazing experience and a lovely relaxing place to stay.

Absolutely beautiful place, the room was amazing and the service amazing. I spoke with Wendy when I booked and I'd mentioned it was our anniversary and my birthday and there were lovely banners and baloons on the bed such a personal touch. The bed was super comfy and we even had breakfast in bed and the food was amazing . Can't wait to go back, loved the bath and the hot tub.

Whilst this is a beautiful hotel in a gorgeous location our experience was not a pleasant one. We have stayed before and so we’re really looking forward to it but it was spoilt by a flood from the room above during the night. We were woken by water coming through the ceiling above the bath area (we stayed in the hideaway room) and then the fire alarm was triggered. The young man immediately duty overnight was a a shocked as us and did go to investigate. After waiting up for an update we finally went back to bed and didn’t find out what happened until the morning. We had also booked a late checkout, good job as we hardly slept worrying about the possibility of the ceiling coming down. Unfortunately this was also ruined when we had to stop housekeeping entering our room.

What a lovely hotel and stay! Perfect proposal from my partner. Will definitely be going again! Also comfy bed and a tasty breakfast :) the townhouse Durham will always be a place close to our hearts now, couldn’t have asked for more. Such a nice hotel.

We’ve just had an amazing Sunday Lunch at the Townhouse, Durham thanks to Chef Simon! The portion sizes are fantastic & the price for what you get is incredible. The customer service from Lynsey & Clarence was second to none! We will be sure to tell all of our family & friends about this hidden gem & we can’t wait to come back! 5* ☺️

Stayed here on 8/06/2024 and would 100% recommend to anyone. The hotel and rooms are beautifully decorated, each quirky and unique, the rooms were very clean with all the extras you’d require during your stay, Ryan and Lynsey were very helpful and accommodating, nothing was an issue and they went out of their way to help with any requests, we stayed at the Eden lodge and had our own private hot tub decorated with fairy lights making it look like something straight out of a fairytale, after a few delicious cocktails and a more than comfortable sleep we ordered breakfast in bed to the lodge which came perfectly cooked and well presented, the hotel is situated in the centre of Durham which was handy for the local bars and restaurants, we cannot wait to book another stay here.
