The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. The hotel itself is a little old but the people and the close proximity to the hospital made it worth the stay.

Excellent location for Duke Hospital (and really anything on Duke's campus, provided you do a little work to learn how to take pathways through the medical complex). Free parking was a nice bonus, though I was always a little nervous about losing my space on days when the hotel was busy (during the week). Room was on the smaller side, but well appointed and nicely decorated.

The staff were very kind, helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the room smelled damp and was very damp even though the AC was working appropriately. Because the room was damp the ceramic tile floor was very slippery. The window was leaking with visible water stains on the window sill and wall. The hotel was very conveniently located next to Duke Medical Center and the Ambulatory Surgical Center. The bed was comfortable and the linens were clean. If it weren’t for the dampness in the room, we would have been pleased with our stay.

Never have I stayed in a hotel where the room did not have room darkening shades or curtains. Our room was lit up like a Christmas tree the entire night.

The hotel if very reasonably priced, making it a good choice if you need to be on campus at Duke University or you need access to Duke medical facilities. The hotel does offer a shuttle to take you to the medical facilities within about 2 miles of the hotel. I found the mattress to be uncomfortable, not so uncomfortable that I could not sleep, but just a bit uncomfortable for me. Other than that, I thought the hotel was very basic in terms of the facilities, but it met my needs. No gym on site, so if that is something you need, you will want to stay elsewhere.

Great place to stay while using Duke Medical complex and hospital. Walking distance 1 1/2 blocks from hospital. Friendly staff. Room has everything you need.

Great stay and clean facilities, hotel and great helpful staff. They are very kind and helpful for people having procedures at the hospital.
