My opinion only concerns the restaurant. 17 years ago, I experienced La Calèche and not once did I go to Durbuy without bringing my family, my friends, my acquaintances, or recommending it to vacationers passing through there. Here, big disappointment because of supplements that I find excessive on the final note. You take meat for 28 euros and the sauce which is served in very small quantities costs you 4 euros! It's normal to pay for the sauce but 4 euros is really excessive! Not to mention that if you ask for mayonnaise or ketchup in a very small pot, you will be charged 1 euro! I've never seen this in a restaurant. (1 euro for 20 g of mayo when you pay 28 euros for the dish, frankly, it's disgusting). To add a little spice to your bill, if you ask for a little fries to finish your 28 euro piece of meat, you will be charged 5 euros! While basically you were given a plate of fries that was not enough to accompany your meats. And finally, 1 liter of water for 7.80 euros! I understand that everything has increased, that everyone has to live, but let's compare what is comparable! The piece of meat served at 28 euros (rib steak), is absolutely not worth this price in terms of taste and quality. If we serve a piece of meat at this price, the quality must follow. Maybe they are in difficulty and need to catch up? so we charge the customer everything we can. It's a shame because I spent money at La Calèche, and in Durbuy, I found that it was the only restaurant that maintained its quality/price ratio. So, I never looked anywhere else. But from now on, I'm going to look for another restaurant because the bill left me with a very bitter taste (170 euros for 4 including 1 children's menu at €12.50) and I really had the impression that we took us for cash cows. Supplements and prices that are too abusive for a quality that needs to be called into question. Too bad because the staff are really very kind and caring. Unfortunately, the staff has nothing to do with it. Anyway, I'm disappointed and I wanted to leave this review because after 17 years, I said to myself that La calèche will see me for a coffee or a drink but as for the restaurant, at that price, I might as well go elsewhere. I had already been disappointed with the value for money 1 year ago, but I remained lenient because reopening after Covid, resumption etc. Then there were the floods etc., I said to myself, we are going to go back... we must help all these traders who have to get back on their feet... So yes, we have to get back up but we must not take advantage of the customers . La Calèche should review its pricing policy because I am sure that it will not help it. Maybe tourists will be taken without realizing it, but regulars and people in the area will change creameries. Too bad, really. I give 2 stars only for the staff.
