Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani

The service was really great. Their staff is helpful. However the rooms are old. My aircon was not working and the stopper in the bath tub didn’t work. I was quite disappointed by that.

Hotel has a great view of the beach and you look straight over the golden mile. Staff are helpful and friendly. As I was staying over a longer period I found the food options a little limiting. The hotel is quite dated and my room had a light damp smell. The room was clean and spacious, Airco was not working in my room, so left window open and curtains shut. it was bearable, and a bonus you can hear the waves crashing on the beach. Beds comfortable and I slept well. Was advised not to go outside at night, which wS unfortunate as that was the only time I would have to exploer the area, but nit the hotels fault.

The service is no longer good . I had a bad service experience. I asked for my room to be cleaned at 8:30 am and I ended up cleaning it up myself. I complained but my matter was not fixed , I got a call that the manager will talk to me about it. Never head of him again.

We had the pleasure of staying at his establishment during December We stayed in a luxury suite at the Elangeni hotel.What an amazing experience.The suite was nothing short of superior .The views from the 20th floor was breathtaking .The bathrooms and decor was stunning .We loved the turn downs and little gifts at the bedside at night .The suite is fully equipped with a kitchen with a coffee machine and microwave ,a full lounge and dining room .Bedroom 1 had a luxurious kind sized bed and bedroom 2 had 2 double beds .Each bedroom including the lounge had its own TV .Breakfast was delicious-a huge variety of foods to cater for all dietary requirements .We had the pleasure of meeting Naveshnie Moonsamy,the Rooms Division Manager who was simply amazing and caring towards the guest's needs .Having a manager who is hands on and present to cater for the guests is a huge plus .For the duration of my stay I noticed her everyday walking around and being available to guests .I also would like to thank Gracy ,the accommodation service manager who ensured that our room was impeccable at all times and catered to all our needs.Kudos to Naveshnie and Gracy-you guys rock !!

The poor service level, dirty rooms, pathetic staff response and lack of towels and toiletries seem to be order of the day. On numerous occasions we had to request towels as late as 10pm. NO MANAGER!!Standard matches the e-coli in KZN. The only positives are the views.
