The resort property is beautiful and lush and well maintained. A friendly hotel staff member met us at the airport and escorted us to our taxi, then water taxi, to another taxi and then to check-in, which was a nice treat. Check-in was easy and friendly. Our room was an ocean front 1 bedroom, nicely decorated and clean. The room is on a small hill set back from the beach. Installing a few steps to the beach path would be nice as it’s pretty steep and could be difficult for some people. The A/C worked great, the bed was comfortable and shower had plenty of hot water. Unfortunately, the pillows were very uncomfortable and my neck, 5 days later, is still hurting. The beach was meticulously raked every day which was greatly appreciated. The Blue Bar had good food, a bit expensive, but good. The pool is small so if there are kids swimming around it’s hard to share. Malcolm 51 had very good food and good service. Our first dinner there was very pleasant and relaxed. When we arrived another evening for dinner, a number of families with young kids were there eating and it was incredibly loud. We have kids so we get it, but we were hoping for an experience like the first so we were a bit disappointed. We rented a golf cart and enjoyed exploring the island. We highly recommend Arthur’s Bakery for breakfast! One thing Pink Sands should consider is a “do not disturb” sign for their rooms, or at least, we didn’t have one. Around 6pm every evening housekeeping would knock on the door (which is clear glass) to see if we wanted turndown service. This seems like an odd time of day for turndown and maybe we should have declined for the entirety of our stay, but we thought the first time was by accident, then we were caught very off guard another evening. We really wanted privacy and didn’t want to feel like we needed to have the curtains closed at all times. I also had someone from housekeeping let herself into our room while I was in the bathroom, she did not knock either. She was very startled when I greeted her, then was a little abrasive with my husband when she made a second attempt to enter and he was there. Despite a couple minor hiccups, we had a nice relaxing stay and enjoyed the atmosphere of the grounds.
