Environment: In Mingsha Village, which comes out of Mingsha Mountain Scenic Area, walk to the scenic spot for about ten minutes. In front of the yard is a forest, you can faintly see Mingsha Mountain, I heard that you can see a little more on the second floor. Four or five kilometers away from the city, the off-season traffic is relatively not so convenient, more suitable for self-driving, there are charging piles.
Facilities: There is a swimming pool, summer should be suitable for parent-child travel. The room is relatively large, with humidifiers and water dispensers. The water quality here is relatively hard and you can boil water with mineral water. The toilet and shower are separated from wet and dry, but there is no place to hang clothes in the shower, which is slightly inconvenient.

The hotel is in a very good location, only 100 meters from the scenic area. It is the most prosperous and lively area of Mingsha Mountain Scenic Area, and it is convenient to buy anything. It gets dark at 10 o'clock in the evening. I have to go out for a stroll every night. The environment is very good, suitable for beautiful women to take pictures and check in. The best thing is that the scenic spot ticket can be entered for three days. I have to go in every day to climb the mountain and play with sand. I will come again next time and stay here. The boss is very nice. He helps to book tickets and recommend food. It feels like home. I will definitely go again if I listen to the boss's recommendations. I recommend it.

One of the 3 B&Bs that I was very satisfied with during the Dunhuang and Qinghai Lake Tour in Northern Xinjiang. There was a large bucket of water, which was particularly satisfying for us who drank tea constantly along the way. The room was large and clean, very close to the entrance of Crescent Moon Spring in Mingsha Mountain. It almost felt like the road was diagonally opposite! When visiting Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Moon Spring, you must stay at the entrance of the scenic spot. In the evening, wait for the stars in the night sky on Mingsha Mountain. The Crescent Moon Spring at the foot of the mountain will light up its outline lights, and the ”Starry Sky Concert” is definitely worth looking forward to! The host's passionate recommendations, the familiar old songs that the public loves, the flashlights of mobile phones all over Mingsha Mountain, just like the starry sky, and the echoes of songs from the mountains and the mountains. I lamented that Dunhuang tourism is really the best! Only by staying at the entrance of the scenic spot can you leisurely enjoy all of Mingsha Mountain Crescent Spring. You can enter the scenic spot again the next morning. If you are not afraid of being tired, you can go in earlier (the scenic spot can be entered at 6 o'clock) and pass by paving on the sand. Take the wooden stairs on the mountain (it’s not tiring to climb up) and then climb up Mingsha Mountain to experience the sunrise in the desert.

The boss is a beautiful young lady, who speaks very softly, enters the store to send local watermelons for free, and the sand is often sweet. The location is outside the City center in a green ,lush,very quiet environment and very close the Singing mountains . The hotel is built and equipped in traditionell style. The breakfast is made of fresh and high quality dishes in local style. Absoluty outstanding was the hospitality and the help with information, transportation and even more ..we could experience places , got information about the local live, the history of Dunhuang and much more. Departing was like leaving friends behind. Special thanks to Mr. HU his son, the landlords and to Candy. Hope to visit that place and the awesome stay again.

As soon as we arrived at the underground parking lot of the hotel, two waitresses took the initiative to guide us to the elevator (the hotel is quite large) and rushed to help with the luggage. From the garage all the way to the front desk to check in and enter the room, all the staff we met took the initiative to greet us Happy New Year! It happened to be New Year's Eve, and the hotel also very considerately presented hot dumplings, so that we, the foreigners who spent the New Year in Dunhuang, also had a warm Spring Festival. Every staff member of the hotel was very enthusiastic. Special thanks to Sister Yin Yumei of the room service, who was even more enthusiastic and proactive. She cleaned the room very clean and tidy every day, and put the items in the most convenient place for the guests. The most surprising thing was that she also prepared hot foot water, towels, mats, etc., so that we could enjoy the feast of Dunhuang culture while eliminating the fatigue of the journey. This journey to Dunhuang again after a few years really left a good impression. I felt the continuous progress and development of Dunhuang and the cultural confidence of the people of Dunhuang! From the moment I stepped into this hotel, I was impressed by this environment and intimate service. The staff at the front desk were warm and friendly, the check-in was fast and there was no cumbersome feeling, the bed was moderately firm, the pillows and mattresses provided excellent support, ensuring my sleep was stable all night. GGuest UserThe location of our accommodation is about nine kilometers away from Mingsha Mountain Scenic Area. We drove there in about ten minutes. We have always been looking forward to the starry sky in the northwest, so we found this starry sky-themed B&B and communicated with it first. The store owner is very good at taking starry sky photos. Sure enough, We were not disappointed. The B&B is located at the foot of Mingsha Mountain. There is very little light pollution and the starry sky photos taken are very beautiful.
The room facilities are also very complete. The air conditioner was turned on half an hour in advance. It was already very cool when we checked in in the afternoon. I would like to give a thumbs up to the housekeeper on the day of check-in. He not only helped us take pictures of the stars, but also shared with us how to take pictures of the stars and adjust the parameters of the mobile phone. It was really useful for a long time.

The lobby always had someone to open doors/press the elevator button for guests. What really stood out to me was the attitude of the workers. Breakfast typically starts at 7, when I mentioned I had to leave at 6:15, the worker at the restaurant told me to come early, and she would have it ready for me. Unfortunately no fitness center but the laundry room was a plus. There were also plenty of washing machines (no dryers).
This hotel truly felt like a second home. The rooms and beds were also comfortable and clean. A fantastic stay overall, would definitely stay here again.

22morrowsworldVisited Dunhuang on several occasions before but Bowen Hotel is the best considering its rating and price. It's a 4 star and only 150 CNY per night. For this you get a well appointed comfortable room with a view of the river. The rooms are well set out with plenty of space, power points and light switches where they are needed, and a stable reliable and secure wifi signal. The Hotel is situated about 300m east of Dunhuang museum. So, still within walking distance of night market main street, bars, memory box cafe, bus no.3 to Mingsha etc
The bathroom is good quality with a glass enclosure for the shower unit, which has lots of space. The hot water system is responsive and strong, over 24 hours (-10°C outside). Good quality towels and a floor mat are provided and replaced each day by the effecient room service staff.who keep rooms spotlessly clean. The queen sized bed is super comfortable- not too soft or too hard. The double boutique room also has a coffee table, sofa and matching foot rest.
I especially appreciated the gym on floor 7. Limited but useful equipment (treadmill, weights). Another useful feature is a laundry service - also on floor 7. I was fortunate enough to interact with the hotel manager, (who communicates in English very well) and she arranged a taxi late at night to Liuyuan. Overall a pleasant hotel experience in a great oasis town. Will definitely stay again and recommend.

I offered to pay direct but the lady at the front desk told me I will get a much better rate if I searched online because of the promotions available.
Very warming for a small outfit.
Service attitude is what made me extend my second night here.
Breakfast though good gets cold quickly. They should use food warmers. Mostly vegetarian options other than hard boiled eggs.

HHeong Siew YinLocation is very ideal, along a pleasant Main Street, around 5 to 8 mins walk to night market, yet away from the rowdiness of tourists. Just opposite there are convenience shops, a western bakery (Angelia) and stretch of small restaurants in an alley which are of good quality.
Front desk services are fantastic especially helpful for foreigners ( though they don’t speak English- try to use e-translator), regarding local attractions and getting a cab for you if encounter difficulties. They are genuinely helpful to try to overcome your difficulties. Special mention on Ya Jin who even asked her regular taxi driver to accompany us to buy the Mogao Grottoes tickets and arranged for a long distance taxi trip to Liuyuan South Railway station. Wang Na also offered her WeChat contact number if we have difficulties coming back at night. Really warm hospitality.
Even the hotel driver who fetched us from the airport was nice(complimentary service). The housekeepers are too hardworking.
Only complain I have is the breakfast which served exactly the same thing every morning and of limited choices. Thus Angelia bakery just opposite was really a good alternative.

SSaharathThe hotel location is good, right in the city center. The exterior may look like an ordinary modern Chinese hotel but the guest room interior is quite nice. Modern with lots of electrical outlets.
The breakfast is simple but tastes really good. The best for this China trip for me.
The hotel also has a free pickup and dropoff service from/to Dunhuang Airport and Dunhuang Railway Station.
One of a few drawbacks for me is the shower room design. I mean construction wise, not decoration wise. Even though there is a circumference groove on the shower room floor to drain water, the swinging glass shower door leaves space at the bottom, causing water to spill outside and pool on the floor. The floor is marbled so it could be slippery.
Another is that even though I had the hotel's WeChat account and had tried to contact them, as I thought I would be able to use the translation function on the app, I was not able to reach anyone or get any response.

GGuoweiyuThere are few people in the off-season, and the boss came out to pick us up when we arrived. The hotel seems to have no heating, and the boss turned on the air conditioner to warm the room for us in advance. There is an electric blanket on the bed, so it doesn't feel cold at night.
The only drawback is that the water is not very hot at night, and the pillow seems a little dirty.

BBarryThe hostel is just down the canal a little from the centre of the city, an easy walk. The bus to and from the railway station is less than 500 metres away (ignore what Google maps tells you, they'll take you to a toilet in the wrong direction, use the Trip.com map, and click through to Google maps to get it right). Go a couple of km the other way and you're at the Dunhuang Museum. There is plenty of space downstairs to hang out, they sell a few cold drinks, and might even make coffee - they have the equipment). The rooms are on the second and third floor, no elevator. My room, #304, was quite rustic and not very big, but had a small table and adequate bed. The shower was just far enough away from the toilet that the floor there stayed sort of dry. Air con did struggle a bit with the 40 degree heat.

GGuest UserFrom the exterior the Dunhuang Jiayuan Hotel looks like a traditional Chinese hotel. But the room is furnished with all the modern trappings that are so essential to a weary traveler. The bedroom and attached bathroom are very clean, hot showers readily available and the bed comfortable.
The hotel is right next to the Shazhou night market and within walking distance to all the transportation hubs which makes visiting Dunhuang attractions easy.
And the service team was fantastic. One and all they were approachable and very helpful. The lovely lady who checked us in not only upgraded our room but she even managed to get us seats on a Western Dunhuang tour which was one of the highlights of our already amazing trip!
Another recommended local dishes for us to try and we were amused to see the name of one such restaurant on a road sign!
In short we love Dunhuang Jiayuan Hotel. Thank you lovely ladies for making our stay there a very satisfying one 👍
