Hotels in Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Moon Spring, Dunhuang

Staying near Mingsha Mountain is very convenient. I spent a long time choosing and decided on this one. Don't drive to the scenic area during peak season. The walk from the parking lot to the scenic area is farther than from the hotel. I'm not sure about the off-season, but overall it's quite good. The room was spacious enough, and the hostess was very welcoming, polite, and gentle. The restaurant also provided free fruit and drinks, which was great. The surrounding restaurants are a bit pricey, which is understandable, but some were quite rude and aggressive (the more expensive, the more aggressive). It felt like they were desperate for a one-time business. It might be better to choose a restaurant with more people. I usually order takeout. There's a good local breakfast place.

The overall design is strong and the service is also very good. In the morning, you can hear the sound of the shower draining upstairs in the courtyard room, which is a bit noisy. At night, you can hear singing upstairs when you sit in the courtyard, but you can no longer hear it after you return to the room and close the door.

After a day of driving, we returned to the hotel's Chinese restaurant. The noodles were incredibly tender and smooth, and even the simple cold dishes were beautifully prepared. The waiters also thoughtfully recommended side dishes, giving us a taste of authentic Dunhuang cuisine. The room was even more than I expected! The design blends modern comfort with Dunhuang cultural elements. The mattress was just the right firmness, and I slept soundly every night. The bathroom had a perfect dry and wet separation, and the hot water was reliable. From the efficient problem-solving to the quality of the food and beverages, to the accommodation experience, every aspect of the hotel's service was truly thoughtful. This unexpected experience has made us loyal fans of the hotel, and I've already recommended it to anyone visiting Dunhuang!

I highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Dunhuang! [Perfect Location] The B&B is right next to the Crescent Lake scenic area, a 5-minute walk from the desert wonders! It's super convenient for watching the sunrise in the morning and the sunset in the evening, saving you the hassle of waiting for the shuttle bus at the entrance. At night, I could even gaze at the desert stars from the terrace, feeling truly connected to nature! [Perfect Service] From the moment I booked, I felt the owner's attentiveness! We agreed on a pick-up time in advance, and the driver enthusiastically helped with our luggage. Upon check-in, the housekeeper offered us homemade apricot peel water and thoughtfully provided a sand mask and body lotion! [Amazing Facilities] The room's natural wood design creates a soothing, warm, and comfortable atmosphere. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and the hot water comes out instantly. The toiletries are also very useful (I forgot the brand). Best of all, our room has a large picture window with a view of the Mingsha Mountain, making it very quiet at night.

It was my first time to the Northwest, and I saw what a strong wind is when I left the airport! However, when I arrived at the hotel, it was unexpectedly grand, just like the generosity of the Northwest people. The housekeeper Wang Juanjuan at the front desk provided attentive service, and upgraded our room type for the second day for free, gave the children free coupons for breakfast for two days, sent foot bath supplies every night, and reminded us to eat beef noodles in the morning... Even though we couldn't go out because of the sandstorm, it was also very nice for the family to watch TV and eat in the spacious and high-ceilinged luxury suite. It was a happy vacation⛱️

## A Warm Home on the Northwest Mini-Circuit We took our three children on a trip along the Northwest Mini-Circuit from Xining to Dunhuang, stopping and wandering along the way. We visited countless scenic spots and stayed in numerous B&Bs, but it was here that we found the warmest haven of our journey. The moment we opened the door, we were captivated by the meticulously designed decor. Every detail showed the owner's thoughtful attention, even the vase in the corner was perfectly placed. The children cheered and ran towards the unexpected surprise: a small, clear swimming pool. In the dry northwest air, this pool of turquoise water became their favorite splashing spot. The aroma wafting from the small bar always tempted us to stop. The richness of the freshly ground coffee and the refreshing sparkling water spoke volumes about the uniqueness of this place. But the most surprising thing was the delicious dishes that left a lasting impression. The tender and juicy hand-pulled lamb, the fragrant wok-fried lamb with scallions, and the crisp and delicious cold-mixed shallots—each dish whetted the children's appetites, and two bowls of rice per person became the norm. In the morning, the aroma of wontons and dumplings awakened our taste buds. Watching the children devour two plates of breakfast, we felt both relieved and a little embarrassed. As night fell, the thoughtfully prepared desserts warmed our hearts. This is the first place, thanks to this B&B, that made me want to return. It's more than just a place to rest; it's one of the most precious little pleasures on the Northwest Loop.

When traveling to Dunhuang, I wanted to find a hotel with a parking lot. I searched for this hotel on the platform. After checking in, the hotel sent welcome fruits. My friend had some minor problems with his room. After communication, he immediately upgraded his room and checked in. In the past few days, my friends were very satisfied. The souvenir display in the lobby has a large area. There are many souvenirs in many varieties, covering all aspects of life. If you don’t have time to buy souvenirs and souvenirs, it is a good choice to shop here at one stop, and the price is the same. The prices are clearly marked, and I am honest. One of the 3 B&Bs that I was very satisfied with during the Dunhuang and Qinghai Lake Tour in Northern Xinjiang. The room was large and clean, very close to the entrance of Crescent Moon Spring in Mingsha Mountain. It almost felt like the road was diagonally opposite! When visiting Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Moon Spring, you must stay at the entrance of the scenic spot. In the evening, wait for the stars in the night sky on Mingsha Mountain. The Crescent Moon Spring at the foot of the mountain will light up its outline lights, and the ”Starry Sky Concert” is definitely worth looking forward to! The host's passionate recommendations, the familiar old songs that the public loves, the flashlights of mobile phones all over Mingsha Mountain, just like the starry sky, and the echoes of songs from the mountains and the mountains. I lamented that Dunhuang tourism is really the best! Only by staying at the entrance of the scenic spot can you leisurely enjoy all of Mingsha Mountain Crescent Spring. You can enter the scenic spot again the next morning. If you are not afraid of being tired, you can go in earlier (the scenic spot can be entered at 6 o'clock) and pass by paving on the sand. Take the wooden stairs on the mountain (it’s not tiring to climb up) and then climb up Mingsha Mountain to experience the sunrise in the desert.

Honestly the service at this hotel is what made the trip! The brothers that own the place are extremely friendly and helped drive us around to everything from the sights to their food recommendations that were all delicious. Not to mention beer, fruit and other drinks are all included at the hotel free of charge! It’s also walking distance to the oasis. To any foreigner wanting to travel here, these guys make it so easy and stress free, it’s worth it for them, plus there’s a place to swim amongst the heat and great air conditioning. You can see the dunes from the roof of the hotel too, where there’s tables and chairs to relax for a drink. Would come again in a heart beat.
