Brilliant pub, all our food was delicious and came out quickly. Staff were particularly friendly and welcoming. Really beautiful setting after a walk around the river nearby. Pretty setting inside and out to sit. Definitely recommend a visit.

Peaceful stay at this friendly Inn where nothing is too much trouble for the team. Great room, secure parking and the food.... the best we have tasted anywhere in a long term. Beautiful cooked and presented with fish specials every night to chose from. Hilary and her team are so welcoming and friendly. It was lovely to be able to wander down to the Steps in the evening after dinner and have them all to ourselves. Highly recommend as a base to explore this beautiful part of the world. Oh and don't miss having a cream tea. The best.

lovely quality hotel, room first class, everything you need, food lovely , loved the porridge with exmoor honey for breakfast- lots of choice here poached haddock a nice option, as well as the normal full english. dinners excellent, location first class a few yards from tarr steps. Beautiful having a drink before dinner overlooking tarr steps on a warm June evening

This place is amazing. We return time after time for the excellent service, outstanding scenery, fab fresh food and stylish rooms. Popular with tourists, walkers, dogs, locals. Cannot recommend this place too highly.

Just returned from a great stay here. Wonderful scenery and walking. Very friendly hotel, clean comfortable room. Great breakfast, delicious smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Dinner very good too. Hope to return another time of the year.

I had booked a table at 12.30 for 8 people as I was leading a walking group of friends. We arrived early but the staff were very helpful and accommodating.I ordered Sausage Mash and peas which on delivery the waitress announced 'half portion '. When I questioned this it was plonked in front of me and told that is what you've got. It was dry tasteless and worst than a school dinner. One of our group is a strict vegetarian and ordered accordingly ,including chips. She was uncomfortable with the flavour and questioned the fat used to cook them in. Eventually they admitted that they fried chicken in the same fat and she should have requested "vegetarian " chips.

Advisable to book. We took some friends here for lunch. Really lovely pub to have a bite to eat. Delicious food…..we had vegetarian which was very good, pleasant bar and happy lovely staff. It is such a good area for walking. I would love to stay here it looks really nice.

Incredible hotel, staff were outstanding, room was beautiful. The restaurant food was incredible. Sat in the most beautiful location, we will definitely be back. Great for families, couples, anyone! Such a beautiful stay, lovely walks to enjoy
