Comfort Inn West

Room was good, bed comfortable, breakfast was ok. My only complaint was the location, sketchy, several homeless people around. It was a little outside of downtown Duluth. we enjoyed our time in Duluth, beautiful flowers and parks. We rode the railroad, it was ok.

I paid over $200 to be put in a room that was less than 75 feet from a busy 4-way intersection. I’m convinced that nobody in Duluth has a muffler on their car, as the noise was unbearable. Needless to say, we got very little sleep. When I complained to the desk at checkout, all she said was, “I’m sorry”. I told her, had I known that I was going to be put in that noisy of a room, I would have gone to another hotel. Stay away from room 101! Also, when we went to breakfast at 8am, they were already out of biscuits and gravy and we had to wait for them to bring out more eggs. One would think that, since they had an accurate count of guests, they would have been better prepared to handle the breakfast crowd.

Unruly guests. Inability of staff to control their residents. Would not move us to accommodate. Rude staff. No management available to assist. “nothing we can do” was only reply. No sleep. No peace and quiet. You’d think for over $250 a night, you’d get some degree of assistance, but apathy is all you’ll get. You certainly won’t get sleep.

Had a motor Coach group of 37 stay at the Comfort Inn West. Stephanie and staff could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was good . Had not one complaint. Hotel was very clean, beds comfortable and very quiet at night. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Bright, clean room with all the amenities, including a beautiful pool. Restaurant next door. Best of all, the breakfast buffet was superb, thanks to the two women who looked after every detail to provide a healthy, satisfying start to the day.

It always clean, the rooms are very comfortable. Nice pool area and breakfast area. We stay here when visiting Duluth , it’s convenient to Canal Park and the freeway.

This was a great stay-clean rooms, decent bed and a great TV with app abilities, something you don't see normally. The breakfast had plenty of options from cereal to waffles. Parking was safe and the area was not to bad a bit industrial but I believe this is all of Duluth. While the view is definitely lacking as my view was a bush and the road the proximity to parks and attractions if great. The give discounts on Zoo, Aquarium, Adventure Zone, Gleen Mansion and a Texas roadhouse Discount which we definitely did it saved is a bunch. I would say my whole stay here was great except one thing that happened on the last night... Sports teams with teenagers. This night was not good running in the halls, kids knocking on doors, heavy footsteps and jumping, door slams and there is alot of traffic noise. When I brought my concern to the front desk she let me know that everyone was complaining but that she let the Chaperones know that they need to correct it. Nothing was even mentioned of how to make it right, even a acknowledgement of inconvenience after such a great last few days. My only recommendation is call first and ask if they will be overloaded with sports teams when you go because the hotel did not seem big enough to accommodate. I would definitely go back but I WOULD make that call first and stay somewhere else if that was the case.

Very poorly managed. I am 68 and I can be slow, but a very nice chicken lady was so kind and understanding. I will walk with the cane and I wasn’t sure about the trash policy, but Amanda assured me that I could just put the trash up against the bedroom and that would be fine. I had to check out and go to an appointment, but I was supposed to go back and check back in. But then I got a call from this man man and he told me.” because of the condition of your room you are not welcome here. And I was just like I tried, and he would not even listen. I have never been treated so poorly in my life, I thought well that’s weird. OK. I have to find someplace else to stay. So I saw the Hampton Inn on Lake superior. I went in there and this is what I was told “sir unfortunately we belong to the same group of choice hotels… Comfort Inn is in, and we cannot, give you a room.. I was like incredulous. I thought what the hell was happening. So I just went downtown Duluth and sat in my car and thought. OK everyone’s kicking me out but then I saw the Fitger’s Inn on superior Street. So by this time I was like paranoid that oh my God, everyone’s gonna kick me out I just didn’t understand. But Fitgers is absolutely fantastic. I do not recommend him staying in any choice hotel, and I know, comfort Inn have a good reputation, but the comfort Inn west, and Duluth is terrible and mean and no calm or compassion and I’m going to report it to the head

We couldn’t have had a better experience. New and clean. Great free breakfast. Free newspaper. Free Netflix. Loved it’s close proximity to US 35, which made it very easy to zip over to Canal Park and restaurants. And fabulous pillows! They were so good we ordered two for ourselves before we left.
