Parfaitement incroyable. Nous avons loué en famille la maison Mkhulu’s. C’est immense. Perdu au milieu de la nature avec une terrasse avec vue à couper le souffle. Pour les repas, tout est disponible pour cuisiner dans la maison mais nous avons préféré le restaurant du lodge en demi-pension où la chef propose une cuisine excellente, variée, équilibrée et succulente. Le service est soigné, souriant, chaleureux. Ils gerent pour vous les reservations pour les parcs, safaris, croisières à Sta Lucia… Le jardinier a même pris sur lui de laver notre voiture couverte de poussière ! Les Nyala et Impala se promenent en liberté dans la forêt environnante et le voisin heberge une faune variée visible de la route avec zebres et girafes. A essayer sans faute pour ceux qui cherche un hebergement depaysant mais confortable, à un prix abordable.

We werden zeer vriendelijk onthaald en kregen een lekker, fris welkomsdrankje. Onze lodge was van alle pracht voorzien, het rook wel een beetje muf, het had net geregend. Het eten was superlekker! Zowel het diner als het ontbijt. Er is een mogelijkheid om een leuke wandeling te doen van 4km op het domein. Andere leuke dingen die de lodge regelde: boot om hippo’s te spotten en bij de cheeta’s op bezoek. Beide aanraders!

Das Chalet war rustikal und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Die Betten waren mit einem tadellosen Moskitonetz ausgestattet. Das großzügige Chalet war mit einer großen Dusche, schönem Waschbereich (zwei Waschbecken) und separatem WC ausgestattet. In Ermangelung einer Sitzgelegenheit innerhalb des Chalets haben wir uns die Stühle von der vorhandenen Terrasse geholt. Die Mahlzeiten waren gut und das Personal sehr freundlich. Zu erwähnen ist, dass die Lodge kein Mittagessen anbietet. Die Lodge liegt tatsächlich nicht direkt am Fluss (siehe Name). Man hat von dem Lounge-Bereich aus einen Blick auf den Lake St. Lucia in der Ferne.

Die Lage ist wirklich abgelegen und ruhig. Man sollte ein offroad taugliches Fahrzeug haben. Dort kann man wirklich zur Ruhe kommen. Das Essen war fabelhaft. Wir haben eine XXL Lunchbox bekommen für die Safari. Leider war das Badezimmer etwas in Jahre gekommen und Renovierungsbedürftig. Das Leitungswasser kann man nicht trinken, auch nicht zum Zähneputzen. Dafür bekommt man frisches Wasser ins Zimmer gestellt. Es gibt kein WLAN und kein Empfang im Zimmer, lediglich im Essensbereich. Die Zimmer haben alles was man braucht, bieten aber keine Aufenthaltsqualität und sehr einfach eingerichtet. Der Ausblick auf den See ist sehr schön. Man kann wunderbar eine Runde spazieren gehen auf der Anlage. In Ca. 30 Minuten erreicht man mit dem PKW den Hluhluwe National Park. Die Mitarbeit sind sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit.

Mooie accommodatie midden in de natuur. Nadeel is dat het erg ver rijden van alles vandaan is. Je bent vanaf de verharde weg ruim 15 minuten bezig om bij de gate te komen. Vanaf de gate is het nog eens 10 minuten rijden. Dit wisten we niet van te voren en vonden we niet handig. Ook kun je 's middags er niet lunchen en zul je de accommodatie uit moeten. Het avondeten vonden wij erg goed. Je krijgt een drie gangen menu waarvan je bij het hoofdgerecht de keuze hebt uit 3 gerechten. In de grote tuin zijn mooie vogel wandelingen mogelijk. Neem voor de zekerheid contant geld mee. bij de eindafrekening deed het electronisch betalen het niet en konden we alleen contant betalen.

This is the only place we returned to from our 2019 stay and again we absolutely loved it. This time we booked Mkhulu's house. If you have a family this is the best! Yes, you have to walk 2 mins up a little sandy path to the main compound, but the house is amazing! You overlook the Hluhluwe river and the estuary, lovely verandahs, several BBQ places, fantastic bedrooms, the house is vast, the kitchen, the dining and living room are huge. Lots of interesting books and a private pool too! If I could i would buy "Grandfathers house". We love the food so much at the Lodge that we changed our mind and postponed self catering to the next place. Everybody is lovely, warmhearted and helpful. The staff rock this place and every second day the general manager comes around, he knows everything about birds! The only downside: it is a bit of a drive from everywhere (45min to Hluhluwe Umfolozi Park) and the walks at False Bay Park are done in a day. It depends whether you want to do lots of activities or whether you came to unwind. If this review hasn't convinced you yet: every second evening a Genet joins the dinner crowd to get her share ;-)

We went with our family, 2 children, 6 years old and 10 years old to the lodge. An exceptionel view to the lake of St Lucia, a friendly staff, delicious food and a very good breakfast. There are a lot of activities in the neighbourhood from the lodge. ( game drive, visit of the Cheetahs, …)
