Location was perfect for restaurants, bars and amenities with easy transport and plenty of shops. The pool and outside area was well kept and had a great view. The accommodation was very average and dated, and the cooking facilities were very poor and limited. I think it needs some updating but not too bad value for money. Also found the owner somewhat rude and abrupt. 3 stars

Exactly what it says on the tin. The villa was very nice, and the apartment had everuthing in it that was promised. Djuro was very quick and clear yo communicate with, and was very helpful for the duration of my trip. The villa is in a lovely location very close to a small supermarket and the best local beach. I did ask about airport shuttles as it said on the hotel listing that they were offered by the villa, but unfortunately that was not the case. The wifi did not work for the duration of my stay. The aircon was fantastic, and kept the room nice and cool once it got to temperature. I was quite unhappy that there was a 10 euro per day charge for the aircon if you left it on during the day. This meant that every day i came back to a hot room which i then had to wait to cool down again. The fridge-freezer was fantastic, the freezer section could freeze 4 1.5l water bottles overnight for me to keep cool during the day. There were no bedside lamps, so you have to use a phone torch to get around at night. I would recommend taking an extension cord, as there were not many plug sockets. Overall, a lovely villa. Exactly what it says on the tin.

honestly, a bad experience. the page on last minute.com advertised aircon, which we were not provided with (bottom floor apartment), so was overall uncomfortably hot as we were only provided with three fans. We arrived and the apartment was extremely dirty (as seen in pictures), with mould down the side of the fridge doors, ants in the kettle, dirty bedsheets and overall a dirty feel. The property manager was overall very dismissive of these concerns, and not that helpful. would not recommend.

Just returned from a 3 night stay here. Good comms from the host about our really late arrival - our key was in a lock box and we found it no problem. Apartment is basic, but contained everything we needed, beds we found comfortable and had no issues sleeping. The aircon unit is a little clunky and noisy, both inside and on the balcony, but it did keep us cool so we were grateful for it in the August heat. There is a note advising that there is a 10 euro charge if you leave the apartment and forget to turn the aircon off, I thought this was a bit unfair, given that it does heat up when you are not in it. We did however adhere to the rules, but we did see it enforced on our neighbours one morning after they had gone out and left it on after a few drinks- now how they know your every movement is a little disconcerting really! We stayed somewhere else after this and there was no such rule, they even had it on full blast for our arrival. Make sure you take a couple of toilet rolls as they leave a couple but as its self catering, they do not refill. The bathroom could do with an update - the shower tray was tired and filled up very quickly and was slow to drain, it was a race against time to get in and out without flooding it - the shower curtain all the way round is just annoying and a little unhygienic as it sticks to you ( god knows how many others its stuck to in the past) I would liked to have seen a proper shower cubicle. That said, we managed - the views are amazing and the balcony roomy, the pool was lovely, never too busy and a welcome addition in the heat, we loved the fact that it was open until 10.30pm - this is something I have not seen before, it really was lovely coming in after the heat of the day and being able to have an evening swim, we did it every night we were there. The steps are plentiful down to the harbour, its a killer coming back up! There are some lovely places to eat and drink and we went in Peppers at the bottom of the steps for a reasonable meal with the best garlic bread I have ever had! Stunk of garlic for days but it was worth it :-D - Also went round to the Dubrovnik Brewing Co bar over the other side of the harbour for some craft beers, was really nice and their food was reasonably priced too, we had chicken wraps and fries and think it was about 9e each - which isnt bad! All in all, a nice quiet stay

Amazing view and very affordable, limited amenities but you get what you pay for. Overall very pleased with the place, the balconies are the highlight and apartment perfectly clean. Although you may need to buy extra stuff for the kitchen overall great place to stay, beautiful views and 5 mins away from bus that goes to the old town (or half hour walk) also near local shops and restaurants.

Area: Fabulous views. Lots and lots of steps, friendly people, lots to see and do, although very expensive. Apartment: Not clean. I own a professional cleaning business so was quite shocked to see the level of cleaning was minimal. Dirty toilet brush, smell from drain, floor not washed, shower base had mould. They ask you to keep it clean, but they leave no cleaning products. Only a VERY WORN dirty sponge in the kitchen, that I refused to use because I had no idea what previous occupiers had used it for. Only 1 t'towel, no towel change mid week or mid week clean (even though it says that anyone staying over 5 days gets a 'clean'.). You are supplied with a very thin sheet, that is it and only one pillow (no spare sheet or pillow like you find in other apartments or hotels). For a double room, there is literally 2 plates, 2 cups, 2 bowls etc. No spares, so you have to wash up every time (with no washing up equipment). There is 2 knifes, 2 forks, 2 spoons and 1 frying pan. No saucepan or anything else. You have a microwave, but no microwaveable bowls or covers to go on plates in microwave. Our fridge broke and leaked all over the floor. The owner/manager, sent a cleaner up, but she turned up in a posh dress (not cleaner wear) and just wiped up the water with a towel (this seemed the norm for the level of cleaning). The owner/manager was very polite and pleasant and attentive and was good enough to change the fridge, but when pulling out the broken one, he admitted to there being 25 years worth of dirt under it, and rather than cleaning it before putting in the replacement fridge (again very old and worn with mould on), he just stuck it straight on top of the existing dirt. This place would be fabulous is the owner just did a few little extra's. For example: 1: Cleaning the property with bleach, not just giving it a 'wipe'. It certainly does not adhere to covid cleaning standards. 2: Putting a NEW sponge every time for every tenant (these are a minimal cost) 3: Putting an extra sheet and pillow in each apartment 4: Maybe getting some new outside chairs (even if second hand, as long as they are decent), rather than taping up the old ones over and over which are actually beyond repair 5: Changing toilet brushes regularly 6: Putting an extra t'towel and toilet roll in the apartments 7: Putting a few little extra touches to the tatty furnishings will go a long way and will get him more business in the long term. 8: Stop taping everything up to fix it!, it makes it look shabbier than it already is. If its broken....replace it! Its a shame, as these little things would have made all the difference between a good review, and a not so good one, because our holiday was fabulous, the area is beautiful, the views are outstanding, the people are all wonderful, so if the little extra's were done, this whole holiday would have been perfect

Visited Villa Valjalo and I must say the only positive is the view that's where it ends I'm afraid. On arrival all looks promising until you enter the rooms which are extremely outdated and in dire need of a fix up (plug sockets loose from the walls, chairs held together with duct tape and metal wire sticking out of them dirty moldy bath fittings) The bed was very basic and uncomfortable with old tatty bed sheets and there were ants in the room. There were also signs all over the property telling you what you can and can't do and how much you will be charged if you don't adhere to the rules! (A nice warm welcome). Also very poor communication with the host as unable to reach on the number provided. It's a shame as the location lends its self to be a beautiful holiday let however it is very neglected and certainly not worth the money. I would strongly advise looking for another location for your trip to dubrovnik.

Just returned from a week in Croatia, staying at this villa, manager/owner very polite and helpful....rooms are basic yes, but you do have all you need ettle hob, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, fridge, etc, the rooms were very clean with amazing views from the balcony. the pool although small was clean and was an added bonus in the heat. very central to local amenities. The only downside for me was the hill and steps, and having a bedside lamp would have been nice, instead only room lights and the switch is by the door. would recommend this villa to anyone. Croatia is a beautiful place to visit, but beware of the cost, especially meals, average price of main course 25-30 euros, cocktails vary from 6- 18 euros, bottled water 2-5 euros, souvenirs especially Game of Thrones gifts are through the roof. the airport only has the one shop which is not duty-free and most things were more expensive than the local shops, no tobacco at the airport and limited cigarettes, better buying locally
