Holiday Inn Express & Suites Dubois

This is a really nice place to stay. Our room was so nice. It was spotlessly clean and smelled good too. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast had several hot options. Warm cinnamon rolls were a nice treat. Front desk personnel were friendly. Easy to find. Right off the interstate.

Hotel was well run. The breakfast was well above the norm and very carefully maintained. I even complimented Annette (staffing it) on what a good experience it made. Coffee is good, tables were spotless, our room was spotless. The one gripe, which isn’t, was the room was truly cold….until we used the thermostat lol.

It appears the property was recently renovated . . . Staff was excellent and helpful at EVERY turn. Breakfast was good, hot and fresh. Room was clean and welcoming. Would stay here again on trips to the area. They are many dining options in this area.

Nicely renovated properties. Pictures doesn’t reflect correctly but brand new renovated property. Staff is amazing. Staff is very cooperating and helping. Best IHG hotel that I have ever stayed and will be coming back when I am in the area. Breakfast is great. Great midpoint between New York and Chicago.

First, we were told that if we stayed in a HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS that it will be the top of the line, rather than just a basic Holiday Inn. NOPE! This has "EXPRESS" on the title of the hotel- don't be misled. Here's what we dealt with: 1. We were not given a room in the main hotel. Instead, we were assigned a room was way out in the back parking lot, not part of the regular inn and it was seedy, gross, filthy and neglected. Entered this area thru a cloud of cigarette smoke, with workers all on porch talking, smoking. Not fun to walk through the smoky cloud because I have chronic asthma. 2. The hall and stairway carpets had not been vacuumed in a while. Both beds had sheets that had NOT been changed...wrinkled and slept in. Hairs on pillows! We were moved to another room. I showed the manager the sheets, hairs, and the carpet. 3. The room that we were moved to had great comfy beds. (the only positive part of the stay) Sheets were still questionable...What was wrong with the second room we got moved into? More long, dark and also curly short hairs on the undersides of pillows. As in the housekeeper just flipped them over. Hairs were also on tub and toilet. Carpet hadn't been vacuumed, food bits on floor. Bugs crawling in overhead light. The worst? Huge bloodstain (about 10 inches in diameter) in walkway at foot of bed. Carpet should have be cleaned, but nope- apparently there is very little cleaning out in the cruddy old parking lot building.(the photo shows it more orange but it looked like blood ). One employee said that that area is for the workers who come stay with them and that there have been issues with housekeeping out there before. I read the reviews before I booked this place, but they must have been from the main hotel building, not the seedy, outcast place behind the parking lot. DEFINITELY not acceptable. AND IT WAS EXPENSIVE!!!! I notified the hotel of these disgusting issues. I notified the hotel company, because nothing was done in the form of compensation, as in we were hoping to at least receive serious points for what we had to deal with. My advice is never ever stay there. EVER.

In an effort to break up a seven hour drive, we opted to spend one night at this Dubois, PA site. And what a pleasant surprise it was! Though we were a bit skittish that such a remote site might be lacking, this Inn was anything BUT lacking. We'd been told renovations were in the works so we were prepared for noise and perhaps a tired room--but that's not what we found. The front desk staff were attentive and welcoming. Our room (newly renovated) was spotless, well equipped, and quiet. Even the bathroom (with a tub/shower and wall mounted amenities) was super clean and stocked with an extra small travel soap and much appreciated disposable makeup cloth. We had a bit of trouble matching TV channels with the listings, but when we called the desk, a staff member was there within minutes with an updated listing and directions for the new TV. The breakfast was good, though not as well stocked as in other Inns; however, it was adequate and the area was clean. All in all, this is a great spot if you're looking for a night's reprieve from Pennsylvania's Route 80!

We stayed here for one night at the end of a road trip. The pros: The hotel was clean. The beds were comfortable. The toiletries in the bathroom had been refilled. Ample parking Good location off of the highway Breakfast was good The cons: After being on the road all day, our children were looking forward to swimming in the pool. When we opened the door to the pool area, we were hit with an overwhelming odor that reminded us of natural gas. When we alerted the front desk, we were told that it was a “natural pool smell” and when we questioned further were told it was nothing to be concerned about, because it was from the chemicals they used in the pool. As someone with a degree in chemistry, I can tell you, that pool Chemicals shouldn’t smell like that. Our kids were very disappointed that we wouldn’t let them swim, but the smell was so strong, that it didn’t seem safe. We stayed in 6 different IHG properties on this trip, and this was the only one whose pool area was unusable. The room was dated: There were no usb outlets in the room to charge devices and the hair dryer was attached to the wall. If you are not wanting to use the pool area, this property is fine, but we probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Stayed here one night on my way home from vacation. The room was exceptionally clean, The bed was very comfortable maybe the best hotel bed I’ve ever slept on. They had a nice breakfast (for a hotel free breakfast), the Wi-Fi worked and the staff was nice. I really like how Holiday Inn has the shampoo and the soap already in dispenser bottles in the shower.
