Nutgrove House Luxury B&B

On a twist of a sloping country lane, Nutgrove slides into view. enclosed in a womblike cove sheltered by lush foliage. The setting and kindly dignity of the house tell you you've reached the right place. Inside is a manor ambience one could soak up for hours, with a particularly fine collection of beautiful books on Anglo-Irish country houses and culture. The gardens to the rear of the house invite wandering, while sequestered to the side is a small wild water garden where your cares will melt away. I'm one of the presumably few guests who've stayed in both the house, luxuriously restful, and the Caravan, fun, quirky and comfortable. Caroline and Richard are always obliging, making you feel genuinely wanted, and most interesting to chat with too. Breakfasts in the imposing dining room are a standout, and my guide was considerately included for them although staying elsewhere. Once experienced, Nutgrove will linger in your mind, high on your list of "return to" places.
