They had a bed bugs on my bed

Had reservations for the Hilton Hampton in from 6/18 to 6/23. On 6/17 I received an email from Hilton offering me the opportunity to select a room and check in. I accepted the room chosen by Hilton and completed the check in. I was notified that I would receive an email the next day when my room was ready. The following day, I arrived at the hotel at approximately 3:30 p.m. and was checked into a different room. I inquired about my previously selected room and the email that said I was going to be contacted when the room was ready. I was told that I hadn’t been contacted because the room wasn’t ready yet. I guess 24 hrs wasn’t long enough to ready the room the app had selected for me. Why does the hotel select a room 24 hours in advance and then not insure it is cleaned prior to a scheduled arrival? Upon entry to the room they gave us, the HVAC system made a loud clanking noise about every five to ten minutes. After this went on for at least 30 minutes I decided there was no way I could sleep with that noise. The hotel must have known about the noise as all the ceiling tiles in the bathroom were loose and worn on the edges as if they had been removed to access the HVAC. I went to the front desk and asked for a different room and they were very accommodating and offered me a different room. To my surprise it was the room I had selected the previous day which was supposedly not yet cleaned. On Thursday 6/19, I received a text from Hilton telling me to text back if I needed anything. I replied that the nightlight in the bathroom appeared to have a burnt out bulb. “Brittni” responded that they will get that fixed immediately. They didn’t, but the next day I received a text asking how things were going. I again reported the nonfunctional nightlight and noted that the Kleenex was also empty and had not been refilled when the room was serviced. (Nor was the coffee). So as of Sunday nothing has been handled. They are great at sending out texts asking how things are going, they just aren’t very good at following up and actually doing anything. Most of the day Sunday we were out. When we returned to our room, it appeared to have been straightened up. However, there was still no Kleenex and the toilet paper was almost gone. Additionally, the used bath towels had been removed but they had provided only ONE clean bath towel! Still no repair or replacement of the night light. It gets even better. They told us when we checked in that they only service the room every other day. So, we checked in on Wednesday and they serviced the room on Friday and then Sunday. On Friday the bed had been made, but it did not appear that they changed the sheets. So on Sunday before going out, I left a very small mark on the bed sheet to see if it would still be there. You guessed it, still there. So a five day stay without changing the sheets! I wonder if they ever change sheets here? Overall this is a nice looking property with many renovations since the last time

This is a larger property, combined with Homewood Suites, off I-355 that is very nice in all respects. Spacious, comfortable 1-bedroom king suite. This may not seem like a big deal but the TV was easier to figure out than in many other places. Nice staff, and a pretty good price considering the property and location.

Disappointed Nice hotel. Mostly friendly staff. Was told upon checking in the pool had been contaminated and was being cleaned but was assured it would be clean within a couple days. Knowing we had significant plans that would consume the entire day the next day, I believed that would be fine.. afterall, they said the hot tub was functional, and I am a full-time single mom and nurse and I desperately needed a soak. I was looking forward to hitting the hot tub with my kiddo and my best friend(who would be joining us the next day in her own suite). The next day was just as long as I had initially thought it would be, with lots of activities in Chcago and dinner plans with the bestie! When we all returned to the hotel late that evening, we were informed the amenity we had planned our hotel stay for was going to be closed for the rest of our time there. The kind person at the desk offered us some free 3 day passes to a gym type facility in the area. Upon inspection, only children 13+ were allowed to use the facilities. My son is 9. So, part of what was going to be a fun vacation we all deserved, turned into resentment and a tearful bedtime. He was looking forward to wearing his new swim trunks. So much dissapointment. Had I been told truthfully the 1st night it would not be cleaned, we could have made other arrangements.

My suite was fabulous.
