We are on a long travel and stay many places on this trip. This Hotel is the best so far, fantastic room with kitchen and living room (all in one). The great part is that I is far from the most expensive actually on the contrary close to being the least expensive. If I should put a finger on anything then the breakfast area is a little small. Staff at front desk are fantastic as well

My family stayed at the Dover Residence Inn this weekend to break up our trip home from the Outer Banks. We had a two-room suite for the five of us and my son was to sleep on the pull-out sofa in the living room. When he opened the sofa, we found that the bottom strap was broken so we called the front desk about it. Darren was so helpful and he gave our son his own room to compensate for the broken sofa bed as they had no other suites to move us into. Needless to say, our son was very happy to have his own room. Thanks so much, Darren! Also, the hot tub was very relaxing and breakfast was pretty good, too. Thumbs up to this property and staff.

I have stayed at a number of Marriott properties over time, and I must say that this was one of the worst. The property, while clean, is very dated. Bathrooms have wornout old style slippery tubs, not walk-in showers, fixtures old and worn, falling apart, etc. Although overall, rooms and hotel appeared clean. Furniture and room decor was very dated looking. Hotel was seemingly dark and 'shadowy'. Lighting was poor, hotel colors were dingy brown and gray. Parking was very limited. Breakfast buffet was the worst I have encountered in a Residence Inn-meager and unappetizing. The neighborhood is pretty dicey with all sorts of questionable looking people walking around. This hotel is located between a ********* dispensary, a self-storage property, a liquor store, gas stations, etc. The area it is situated in is also pretty dicey. I was concerned for the safety of my car overnight. When I first went in on the Marriott website to make the reservation, the room charge was $139. Two minutes later, it was $295. This game-playing is in the control of the local hotel manager. I finally called Bonvoy and used a free night certificate. But frankly, in hindsight, I was sorry to lose my certificate over staying at this place. It boggles my mind that anyone would rate this place as 'good' or 'excellent'. It was clearly neither. If you ask me, I'd say, pass it by and keep driving. Where is Marriott Corp. quality control?

If you are going to an event at the Spire Institute I highly recommend staying at the Residence Inn in Mentor OH. The hotel is just a short distance from the Spire Institute and there is some amazing restaurants in the area. The entire staff at the Residence Inn went above and beyond for the Swimmers that were staying there. The last night there the team had a catered dinner in the common area and the staff ensured that the dinner went as we planned. The hotel is very clean, the bed was comfortable and the pillows were amazing!

This review is based on two stays at this property, one in January and the other in February. I decided to roll both stays into one review since they didn't differ that much. Overall I would say the stay was not bad. The people at the front desk were really nice and helpful which makes you feel more welcomed and you can go to them if there is a problem. I had one of the studio rooms and not the one bedroom rooms that they have. The room was ok. I found it to be a little dated. The thermostat is a little wonky and depending on the room, the refrigerator can have annoying humming noise. I'm noise sensitive so this is something that bothered me. I had to unplug it before going to bed so it wouldn't wake me up. On that note, everything seemed really quiet which for me is a huge huge factor in what I think of a place. One thing that I didn't like is that there wasn't any housekeeping. I don't need it every day but since there is a kitchen (that I used), it would have been nice to have someone just come and empty the trash and swap out bathroom towels. Not the end of the world that there wasn't but had this happen at another Residence Inn where I stayed for over a week and no one ever came to clean the room. It must be a thing with Residence Inns. One of my negatives is the breakfast. Now I went to the supermarket to get my own food to make my own breakfast so I didn't eat the breakfast. I just saw what they offered. I have to say, they offered nothing healthy. There really wasn't, in my mind, anything that is good for you. There was barely any fruit and if there was, it looked horrible. I would for sure stay away from the breakfast. Plus there are breakfast options outside of the hotel where you may fair a little better or at least have more options. Speaking of location, It's convenient to restaurants and shops but most are chains and big box stores. There is a little downtown to Dover that isn't very far but sadly, there isn't much of a reason to venture that far so what's around the hotel is plenty fine. I'm from the Philadelphia but live out West now so being close to Wawas was important to me and they weren't too far. it's the little things. If I were to find myself in Dover again, I would stay here. I stayed at the Home2 Suites in the area last year and that was awful. This Residence Inn by far was better. Check it out. It may be the best in Dover.

First the positive: every staff member we interacted with was very friendly, helpful and motivated. The place is very clean. Also, the gym is very nice as far hotel gyms go. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen in the room was very well equipped. Now, the not so positive. This place needs some investment. The first room we were assigned to had a broken sofa bed. The second room did as well. Our third room had a working sofa bed, but a broken, badly repaired table leg and empty shampoo and shower gel dispensers. Also the hot tub is currently out of order, I will give the operators the benefit of the doubt and assume that this is only temporary. Lastly, our fridge turned out to be set to the coldest temperature on the dial, which we only noticed after our food had frozen solid. Overall, $150 a night is too expensive for what you get here.

My family and I had a great overnight stay at Residence Inn Dover. The breakfast was excellent and the servers very attentive. But a special shout out to Tammi in reception who kindly returned my clothes that I left there. I was traveling for many days after and it was hard to get all my details to her to send the clothes back. But she did it! Above and beyond service.
