I have stayed at a number of Marriott properties over time, and I must say that this was one of the worst. The property, while clean, is very dated. Bathrooms have wornout old style slippery tubs, not walk-in showers, fixtures old and worn, falling apart, etc. Although overall, rooms and hotel appeared clean. Furniture and room decor was very dated looking. Hotel was seemingly dark and 'shadowy'. Lighting was poor, hotel colors were dingy brown and gray. Parking was very limited. Breakfast buffet was the worst I have encountered in a Residence Inn-meager and unappetizing. The neighborhood is pretty dicey with all sorts of questionable looking people walking around. This hotel is located between a ********* dispensary, a self-storage property, a liquor store, gas stations, etc. The area it is situated in is also pretty dicey. I was concerned for the safety of my car overnight. When I first went in on the Marriott website to make the reservation, the room charge was $139. Two minutes later, it was $295. This game-playing is in the control of the local hotel manager. I finally called Bonvoy and used a free night certificate. But frankly, in hindsight, I was sorry to lose my certificate over staying at this place. It boggles my mind that anyone would rate this place as 'good' or 'excellent'. It was clearly neither. If you ask me, I'd say, pass it by and keep driving. Where is Marriott Corp. quality control?
