Went for their afternoon tea with a friend for her birthday. It was fabulous! Service was impeccable, the food was delicious, the dining room was beautifully decorated, and I found the price to be very reasonable. I definitely will be going back! PS we drove over forty miles to get there, and it was definitely worth it!

Beautiful place inside and out! Great night sleep, great shower and amazing breakfast with the best wait staff! Gerri was just a ray of sunshine. The town had good dinner options and Portsmouth is fifteen minutes away. Highly recommend staying here!

Our first time in Dover and first time ever staying in a B&B. Such a great experience!! The Victorian tea house was beautifully decorated, impeccably clean, everything so well thought out. Easy to come and go, super quiet, and to be served breakfast every morning from a menu of homemade options was so wonderful. The homemade scones were truly to die for! Kim, Jerri and the team was so friendly and welcoming! I would give this a billion star rating if I could! You will not be disappointed. Can’t wait to make a return trip sometime in the future. Beautiful part of the country.

Absolutely beautiful authentic victorian B&B. Every room has architectural features from the era. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Excellent breakfast menu. The Mystery Weekend event in the Carriage House was amazing and well organized and fun!

The Inn is beautiful, quaint, warm and welcoming. I love the decor and the beautiful furniture, etc. We went for a murder mystery weekend, and it was so much fun. It was well done, and put together. Absolutely worth your time and money. The Inn Keeper is so wonderful, and very personable. The rooms are elegant and the breakfasts and teas are lovely. The Dinner at the mystery weekend was delicious. I can't wait to come again.

Loved the whole feel of this historic B&B. The innkeepers ( Jim and Pam Pidgeon) were so friendly and helpful, the room was cozy and comfortable, the tea room was gorgeous, and the architecture was stunning. I will definitely be going back to this place when I am visiting friends in Dover again. Fantastic experience.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here while in Dover to visit family over a weekend in January. The large Victorian house is beautifully maintained and decorated, and the hosts are friendly and helpful. My room was just as described on the website, with a cozy feel, comfortable bed, natural light, and extra amenities such as bottled water, a silver ice bucket, small TV, and inconspicuous mini-fridge. Because of poor weather, I ended up spending more time in the room than planned, and it was a pleasant place for reading and working. The common rooms downstairs include the dining room, which is big enough that you can enjoy your meal without feeling like you are crowded with other guests, and a sitting room. The breakfast included many options to choose from, everything delicious and prepared to order. You will enjoy the tea and coffee stations, which are open 24-hours, and allow you to bring pots to your room. The location is great: I left my car in the small parking lot and walked everywhere in Dover. The kicker for me was that I awoke on the morning of my departure to find that it had snowed 6 inches overnight, and the staff had cleared the snow from all of the guests' cars!

My husband and I stayed here overnight recently, and loved it! Both the inn and our room (the Duchess) were clean and beautifully decorated, and our host, Jim, was friendly and a lot of fun to talk to. Although we opted for a light breakfast, since we were having tea there at 11:30, what we did have was delicious and nicely presented. The breakfast options (included) were plentiful - you had a choice of four different juice starters, four different main courses (crepes, egg cups, quiche, or a breakfast sandwich), bacon or sausage, and eight different types of sides (I had an English muffin). You can also order alcoholic "libations" for an additional fee. Also included during our stay was 24-hour access to a complimentary coffee and tea station, with numerous loose leaf teas to choose from, along with plenty of teapots and mugs - a nice touch for tea lovers! The afternoon tea we had before we left was also wonderful. October's theme was "Hocus Pocus," with related decor and menu. We had the "Duchess," which includes soup, three savories, a caramel apple scone with apple butter and devonshire cream, and four desserts (they even placed a candle in one of the cupcakes, since we were celebrating our anniversary). Everything was wonderful - especially the petit fours, best I've ever had - and it was reasonably priced at $36 per person (if you are staying at the inn you receive a 10% discount). Our friendly, super accomodating and helpful hostess was even dressed in costume - a fun, added touch! We enjoyed ourselves so much, and definitely plan to return in the near future.
