The Woodside

I did so look forward to staying at this hotel, there were certain things about it I did like. The food was good, the young staff were brilliant. But can I say this, it is a gold mine, if only the owners could see that and realize they need far more staff on duty to cater for the many people who stayed and booked a meal but also popped in. Due to lack of staff the waiting time for drinks, meals etc was not good, very slow and the staff were never in a hurry to serve, everything seemed very laid back.............. so many guests had to go and ask for drinks and food due to waiting times. I also wish this good pub hotel had decent cleaners, cleanliness was a lot to be desired, so much needed tended too. Cleanliness in where you are staying is something that initially on first view makes you relax and realise you are in a good place. It sets the good vibes for your well earned stay. I can't say I will ever return unless it changes staff, shows more proficiency, upgrade especially on the cleanliness of the hotel, but most of all not take things for granted, for example ...... that people who pay a lot of money will accept mediocre results.......I do hope staff, Managers and the owners do look at the future of this much needed hotel.

Lovely lunch calamari starter was amazing. Staff very attentive and Manager exceptional. Great pit stop if you are in the area.

Our stay at The Woodside was lovely! We stayed in The Birch Room, and we had both dinner and breakfast in their restaurant. The owner, Richard, was so nice. The room was cozy, and the shower was excellent. There was a bit of music heard from the pub in the restaurant, but nothing objectionable. We would absolutely stay again!

Breakfasts were excellent. We also ate dinner one night and it was also very good.

Just love the place. Another great weekend in January (thought I'd already done this) was made special by Patrice and all the staff. Room was great, food was great, staff were great, in fact - booked again for Jan 26. Cannot wait. I can see this being a 'thing'. Keep up the great work you're all doing a great job.
