What a wonderful few days we had. Ally & Simon were super hosts, nothing was too much trouble. A huge array of choice for breakfast ranging from cereals & home made granola to pastries and a full English breakfast. Very comfortable rooms with lots of little thoughtful touches - not to mention the home made shortbread left in our room to accompany the tea/coffee. Thanks Ally & Simon for making us feel so welcome and inviting us into your home. Anna & Richard 🥰

Five stars aren't enough for this fabulous B&B. Aly and Simon are wonderful hosts and have a beautiful home. The location is perfect as a base for touring around the County. We arrived as guests and left as friends and look forward to coming back soon.

The Old Stables is an absolute gem of a B&B in the heart of the Somerset countryside near Shepton Mallet. With tastefully-renovated and well-equipped rooms, it is the hospitality of Alison and Simon that makes all the difference with the thoughtfulness that goes into the provision of amenities! Their breakfasts are superb with no request being too much trouble, and their little touches such as scrumptious home-made shortbread and good quality tea and coffee in the rooms makes this feel truly like a home-from-home.

What a gem! This B and B is charming, set in a pretty, peaceful location with friendly, welcoming hosts! Our room had large, French doors opening up to seating and garden area. The homemade shortbread and fresh milk were an added bonus. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, with a wide selection of choices. Would highly recommend and would definitely return if we revisit the area.

The Old Stables scored on every front: wonderful quiet location; supersized room and bathroom, with every amenity imaginable; great bed and bedding; a breakfast unsurpassed for both choices and preparation; and Aly and Simon were the best of hosts

Just....Wow!, What a fantastic experience. Just a lovely couple running the most comfortable and welcome BnB we've ever stayed at. Beutifully appointed and full of character. Fabulous excersise field for our two ******* Terriers, (who send their love and thanks for breakfast sausage!). Talking of breakfast....just an a amazing choice of food from full english to continental...Beautifully cured bacon and superb sausages together with gorgeous golden scrambled eggs...fabulous. Simon and Ali are so helpful and intent on giving their clients just the best experience. We'll be back! Thank you!

What a wonderful 2 day visit we had, the hospitality from Alyson and Simon, bedroom was comfortable with lovely little touches, and breakfast was the best ever. Will definitely be coming back for another visit. Thank you so much Alyson & Simon

The best B&B we have been to. Nothing was too much trouble, Rooms were amazing such lovely touches, Loved ‘Things you might have forgotten ‘ in the little suitcase. Breakfast was superb. Very welcoming just loved everything about our stay We will be back

Just stayed 2 nights at The Old Stables and it was absolutely fabulous and the hosts Simon and Alyson were amazing and is a beautiful place to be with its country feel ambiance and its pretty décor. We stayed in The Garden Room and it was warm and clean with very nice facilities with Tea, Coffee and biscuits and a welcome basket for our dogs and they made them feel welcome too with treats and lots of affection from two beautiful people and of course Jasper their dog. The breakfasts were very special with warm pastries from Alyson and fabulous cooked breakfast by Simon! Definitely going back there to stay again in the near future. Cannot recommend the Old Stables enough.
