Adelphi Guest House

A few of us came here and had three rooms for several nights. It was spot on for the price. The owner stayed up to check me in - the ferry was slightly delayed but they were very flexible. Thank you. Room clean and fine. Breakfast good - and included in the price. Cannot fault it. Just don’t expect The Ritz, but you’re paying a fair price.

One of the oddest rooms ever dado missing, screws hanging out of wall, holes in the wall, 2 cups in a triple room , tv had no ariel, bedhead sticking to wall, no glasses, it wasn't dirty as such just weird

Fantastic value for money here. It's not a modern hotel, but it is clean and the hosts are very welcoming. As with most old guest houses in Douglas, lots of stairs, and the décor is somewhat dated - but who really cares? Rooms are small but perfectly acceptable for the price. Shower worked great and a good full English breakfast set me up for the day. Short walk down to the town and promenade.

As like many of these guest houses, there are lots of stairs. Room was compact and looked like it hadn't been decorated since 1990. Floor sloped so bad I nearly rolled out of bed on more than one occasion, the only thing that stopped me was the poorly fitted base sheet on the bed which pinged off at every opportunity. Walls are paper thin so you can hear every other room having conversations right through the night. Bathroom was cramped, tiny sink is useless and the shelf above it is strategically placed so you can't even wash your face or even spit out toothpaste without making a mess. Shower was OK but be prepared to dry yourself on a postage stamp. The 'Full' English Breakfast is a rasher of bacon, 1 egg, 1 sausage, 1 hash brown and a spoon of beans. Was OK at best but would not choose to stay again.

I found fantastic value for money here, it's not the ritz but my room was cosy and clean. Shower worked great and breakfast set me up for the day. Kind host allowed me a late check out on my last day. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for value for money.

Weekend away groundhopping this was my place to rest . Isle of Man is a small island as we all know so this was perfect for me. Local bus station 10 mins walk and takes u where u need to go. The owners Eric and ruby are lovel the rooms are clean and breakfast bits alright . As the time of stay they was having works done on the property but it was to make the place better would of got a five for me but for this it’s only a 4. Maybe next time 5/5. That hill tho 🤫

After reading great things about Adelphi, we were looking forward to staying here, however we were let down by what we found. The rooms are poorly maintained, the rubbish from a previous guest was not emptied and the coffee making facilities were dirty. The guests upstairs could be heard clearly stomping around their room. The location is fine and the breakfast was okay. We would not stay again
