**Hotel Römerhof Dorfgastein** Wir hatte das Vergnügen, im Hotel Römerhof in Dorfgastein zu übernachten und war äußerst zufrieden mit meinem Aufenthalt. **Check-In und Zimmer:** Der Check-in-Prozess war sehr professionell und effizient. Unser Zimmer war groß und geräumig, mit einem ebenso beeindruckenden Badezimmer, das sowohl eine Badewanne als auch eine begehbare Dusche bot. **Personal und Service:** Das Personal war unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ihr Engagement für den Gästeservice hat unseren Aufenthalt noch angenehmer gemacht. **Essen und Trinken:** Das Frühstück war hervorragend mit einer Saftpresse und frisch zubereiteten Eierspeisen nach Wahl. Die Jause am Nachmittag war abwechslungsreich und köstlich. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das italienische Buffet beim Abendessen. **Wellnessbereich:** Der neue Ruheraum im Wellnessbereich hat uns besonders gut gefallen und bot eine ideale Möglichkeit zur Entspannung. Wir können das Hotel Römerhof wärmstens empfehlen.

We arrived in Salzburg on a delayed Lufthansa flight from London and quickly hopped into a taxi to the main railway station. Thankfully, we made it just in time to catch the train to Dorfgastein. The hotel thoughtfully arranged for a car to pick us up from the Dorfgastein station (approximately 1 km away), and by early evening, we were relaxing in the charming hotel bar. Römerhof is a traditional, family-run Austrian hotel located in a peaceful village just five minutes from the lift station, with a convenient ski bus stop right outside. The ski runs are quite extensive and notably less challenging than those in nearby Bad Gastein, making them perfect for a more relaxed experience. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful. Our room was clean, spacious, and quiet, though the shower’s thermostat was a bit temperamental. The food was excellent every night, and the afternoon cake was simply delicious. We can thoroughly recommend the "half board" option during the skiing season. We have nothing but praise for Römerhof and its wonderful team.

Nice family owned hotel in a quiet small town. Pro: Very clean rooms, nice spa in the basement area and a nice cosy restaurant with very personal service. Stayed there for 5 nights and enjoyed taking the lift to the alpinetop and going for a walk. One day rented an e bike at the hotel - nice well maintained bike and took a 20 km ride to a restaurant at one of the alpine tops. The location is nice and quiet. Cons: Be aware that the room description, photos and sketches does not represent the outlay of all rooms. During peak hours, parking next to the hotel, can be a challenge

We have just spent 6 nights here and feel as if we have been in a 5 star luxury hotel the whole time. Traditional Austrian hotel with amazing food whether you just have breakfast or add in dinner from time to time. The photos of the spa on the website do not do it justice - pool, jacuzzi, steam, 2 x saunas, thermo showers, plunge pool and 2 different rest zones. The hotel is family run and the owners are present and attentive and friendly at all times. There is a garage full of bikes that you can borrow. The room was wonderful too. I could go on and on. Located in Dorf Gastein in the Gastein area - information and brochures on all that you can do in the area is widely available and easy to follow. Highly recommend. Thank you Roemerhof!

Cosy family run hotel. The team work hard to make you feel comfortable. The hotel offers good food, a cosy bar and a nice pool and spa area. They also have a number of family rooms which provide 2 bedrooms at a good value rate. Also convenient for the wider Gastein ski area by bus or car. Notwithstanding that there had been no new snow for a few weeks, the piste conditions in Gastein were very good and much better than neighboring Zell am See where we skied one day (25 mins away by car). We definitely recommend this resort as a good value option with extensive skiing close by.

Wir sind seit vielen Jahren Gast im Römerhof in Dorfgastein. Egal ob Zimmer, Personal, das wunderbare Frühstück, die tolle Jause und das sehr ansprechende Abendessen - wie immer überragend. Sauna - Schwimmbad, Massage passen wunderbar zu dem Familiengeführten Haus. Es fühlt sich immer für uns so an, als würden wir nach Hause kommen – liebe Familie, Hasenauer, vielen Dank dafür. Wir können dieses Haus mit den besten Empfehlungen jedem als Destination ans Herz legen. Für Skifahrer – die Lage ist sehr gut, denn man kann in sechs verschiedenen Skigebieten fahren mit kurzer Anreise beziehungsweise mit dem Ski Bus sofern man sich im Gasteiner Tal aufhalten möchte . wir nicht skifährt kann Thermen, Wanderungen oder den tollen Heilstollen besuchen. Wir freuen uns heute schon auf das nächste Mal🥰

Wir waren mit der Familie eine Woche im Januar im Hotel und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Familienzimmer im Stammhaus war sehr geräumig und durch das separate Kinderzimmer für uns mit zwei kleinen Kinder optimal. Die Halbpension beinhaltete ein reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet, Eierspeisen (Omelett, Rührei, Spiegelei, gekochte Eier) wurden nach Wunsch frisch zubereitet. Es gab eine große Auswahl an Brot und Brötchen, sowie auch etwas Kuchen oder anderes süßes Gebäck oder Kuchen. Nachmittags wurde eine Jause angeboten, es gab in der Regel eine warme Mahlzeit (Suppe, Würstchen, Käsespätzle) die jeden Tag variierte und diverse Kuchen. Abends gab es ein vier Gang Wahlmenu, an zwei Tagen mit einem Grill- bzw. italienischen Buffet zum Hauptgang. Generell war alles gut zubereitet und lecker! Alle Mitarbeiter im Haus waren stets sehr freundlich. Der Wellnessbereich ist ebenfalls sehr schön und das Schwimmbad haben unsere Töchter geliebt. Im Ruhebereich mit Teebar konnte man zudem gut entspannen. Das Hotel liegt im Zentrum von Dorfgastein, kleinere Geschäfte für den täglichen Bedarf sind in der Nähe und auch die Bergbahnen nicht weit entfernt. Wer nicht laufen oder mit dem eigenen Auto fahren möchte, für den fährt ein Skibus direkt vom Hotel aus. Mit dem Auto sind auch Hofgastein und Bad Gastein schnell zu erreichen. Wie Eingangs geschrieben haben wir alle uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen mit Sicherheit wieder!

We were really looking forward to a meal at The Romerhof, we had high expectations. The food was indeed very nice but the service was poor. On arrival, we were early for our dining reservation and keen to have a pre dinner drink in the bar. This wasn't offered as being available and we were rushed through to our table. This was fine. Busy place etc. We were then rushed to choose our drinks and our food. A drinks menu wasn't offered at all and so we went for wine and a whisky. Struggled with the food menu as our German understanding leaves a lot to be desired (Yes. Not good on our behalf I know) but help wasn't freely given and we just gave up on trying to even choose a starter as the waiter was so pushy on getting main course choices from us. English maybe spoken here but please don't rely on this as an aid as a friendly vibe was really lacking. We didn't get offered a dessert menu after finishing our meal and gave up on that too. Had to ask for the bill twice as kept waiting. Quite a surly response on asking for the 2nd time. Anyway all in all, we had thought this could be a place to stay for skiing trips but definitely not an option now. In conclusion, both food and service have to be good for repeat trade. I hope that our waiter perhaps just took a dislike to us for some reason and that it is not indicative of a more pronounced disinclination to serve English guests.
