The hotel is quirky due to the buildings its in and what they used to be. We had a top floor room in the tower so had fantastic views of the river and gardens. Big room, very clean, comfortable bed. Its industrial looking as in the old water tower and the renovation keeps its industrial heritage. If you only like shiny, sparkly new hotels, this is not it for you but we loved the feel of the place. Quirky and fun without being silly. Reception staff excellent. Gardens fantastic. Easy parking. 20 minute walk into centre of town. Breakfast good.

Na twee eerdere overnachtingen in hotel Villa Augustus hebben we nu de waterkamers ontdekt. We sliepen op het begane waterniveau en dat beviel uitstekend. Wij wonen rustig, maar op het water krijgt rust een heel andere betekenis. Heerlijk! Gesterkt door het prima ontbijt (wij gingen voor het kleine ontbijt; lekker, voldoende en vriendelijk geprijsd) zijn we richting Biesbosch vertrokken.

Mijn vriendin nodigde me uit om bij u te lunchen op 21 augustus jl. In deze prachtige locatie waren mijn verwachtingen hoog gespannen. Helaas kon op geen enkele manier rekening worden gehouden met mijn noodzakelijke histaminearme dieet. Dat viel mij heel erg tegen.

This is a very interesting hotel with several room options. The rooms in the tower are spacious and have wonderful views over the gardens and the water. Some have small balconies. The garden rooms have a small private patio area although internet coverage isn't too good. The restaurant in the adjacent building serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The various gardens surrounding the hotel are wonderful and include a formal garden, a flower garden and a vegetable garden. The staff at the hotel and restaurant are very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to accommodate special requests. Some of the staff are conversant in English which is helpful. The main drawback is its location which requires a taxi ride to the city center although there is parking for those who have a car.

We hebben hier 1 nacht geslapen in de tuinkamer. Een mooie, ruime en lichte kamer. De tuin is prachtig; hier genieten veel mensen van die dan wel recht je kamer in kijken... De douche is heerlijk. Personeel vriendelijk. Ontbijtbuffet is lekker en voldoende vegetarische en gezonde keuzes

What can I say without getting lost in extravagance... What was the chance of this refuge to exist anno 2023.. what is the chance to find a place where quirkiness and stylist vintage sustainability survives and finds its audience. What is the chance to find a place where plant based is already as much standard as non. Villa Augustus repaired my faith that there is a way to cherish and celebrate sustainability and respect for food and seasons. The peace and quiet in the hotel were almost so embracing that I didn't want to spend the night sleeping.... a refuge.

I went to the Villa Augustus hotel because I had to spend the night in the area for some business, and the building looked nice and vintage. The the rooms looked cozy and unique too. To say that this hotel is a hidden gem would be an understatement. The garden when you get in is absolutely incredible, with a front door area which grown farm vegetables and the rear that looks from a French Royal castle garden. And once you get in the surprises do not stop and the crew is super helpful and nice and the room ? what can I say, The building is super cool, and was a water tower that was reconditioned into a hotel, so the tower rooms are unique both in configuration, beauty , glamour and in having some steep stairs to get to the bathroom. The room has the nice industrial look complete bathroom under the main room but with some steep stairs. No problem for me but something to be taken into configuration. The Restaurant Augustus was very good too with super tasty Italian dishes and nice beer. The breakfast was either buffet or a la carte and the small breakfast at only 10 euros was nice and affordable. I do not need more to start the day. Overall a fantastic experince that i will repeat, 100% sure.

I have stayed at Villa Augustus several times and absolutely LOVE it. It's my "go to" accommodation (in my opinion, it's so much more than just accommodation) when visiting Dordrecht. The staff are lovely too. Everything about it feeds the senses...from the abundant floral arrangements, design, quirky decorations, bed linens, gardens and outdoor areas ...to the wonderful breakfasts and delicious fresh food available all day through to dinner. It's located by the water, slightly away from the main town but is an easy walk to anywhere interesting, cultural, fun or food based. Villa Augustus is a peaceful place but also has the good buzz energy of an establishment well frequented by locals and visitors alike. I can't wait to go back again!

We hadden ons verheugd op een paar rustige nachten logeren (om carnaval te ontvluchten) in een mooie grote kamer in het waterreservoir. Helaas werd de eerste nachtrust luidruchtig verstoord door (wat na een telefoontje door receptie werd bevestigd) een reparatie team die een gebarsten waterleiding aan het repareren waren. Dit werd bij het uitchecken wel gecompenseerd doordat we een toekomstige overnachting cadeau kregen. De kamer was ruim, met een fijn groot bed en badkamer beneden. Twee duidelijke minpunten voor ons aan deze kamer: geen deur waarmee je de badkamer of tenminste de toilet kon afsluiten De vloer was overal met klinknagels bevestigd, op blote voeten erg pijnlijk om op te stappen. Heerlijk diner gegeten in het restaurant. Het ontbijt buffet was aardig, maar druk, rumoerig en we misten warme gerechten. We komen alsnog terug voor de sfeer maar dan weer in een ‘gewone’ kamer in de toren.
