Good visit. 2nd time visiting. Great weather good atmosphere. Specialty restaurants were good, managed to eat at 4 of them, booking through app was good. Buffet was fine, hotel was not full which made everything a little nicer. Transfer to/from airport was great as we were only ones in mini bus.

A Familiar and Welcoming Stay: We booked a 14-day flight and all-inclusive package through Sunwing, and this was our fourth visit to the Dominicus Palace. Once again, it truly felt like "a home away from home." Our stay in the Superior Room near the beach, located in a renovated block of rooms, was exceptional. The room was wonderfully equipped with all the conveniences needed to feel at ease. The overall atmosphere was lively and inviting, with an engaging animation team ensuring guests were entertained throughout the day. They led fun and energetic morning aerobics sessions, catering to guests of all ages with friendliness and warmth. Each evening, the administration arranged performances by talented local musicians in the main lobby, filling the space with the vibrant sounds of traditional melodies. Occasionally, we couldn’t resist joining in the dancing! A thoughtful touch for Italian-speaking guests was the special entertainment at the theater three times a week. Sunny Weather and Relaxation: The beautiful sunny weather added so much to our experience. Relaxing on the beach was pure bliss, with clean and comfortable lounge chairs always available. Daily towel changes were a welcome service that added to the convenience . Room Amenities and Thoughtful Details: The Superior Palace Room was both comfortable and well-equipped with modern facilities, including a safe and complimentary internet. Housekeeping provided daily service, ensuring fresh towels and essentials were replenished. A standout feature of the hotel was the filtered water stations on each floor, where guests could refill specially provided bottles. This thoughtful addition allowed us to stay hydrated while avoiding local water—a much-appreciated health precaution. Constructive Feedback: The internet connection in the room was slow and inconsistent, which could be improved for a smoother experience. Dining and Exceptional Service: We dined primarily at the Restaurant Buffet “La Yuca” near the main lobby, while lunch was often enjoyed at the snack bar by the beach. The food was consistently delicious, with an impressive variety of dishes and expertly prepared specialties. One evening, I savored the most delicious Seafood Paella – Mediterranean style, a true highlight of my trip! The desserts were equally memorable, especially the house-made Vanilla and Pistachio ice cream. Drinks like wine and beer were served generously and promptly upon request. The restaurant staff offered attentive and efficient service during breakfast, lunch, and dinner, making the dining experience truly outstanding. Personal Touch: One of my favorite activities was taking a leisurely walk from Dominicus Palace to Dominicus Beach along a picturesque walkway. To the left, breathtaking views of the sea stretched out endlessly, while lush greenery surrounded the resorts. It was a serene and rejuvenating way to exercise while soaking in the natural beauty of the area. Overall: Dominicus Palace is a wonderf

Just back from a week stay , complex is beautiful, rooms basic but cleanish and everything you need. Amazing little coffee shop and great wildlife. Negative... food cold or not cooked drinks all flat drank squash all week, and we all ended up with upset tummy's. If your English find another resort unless your fluent in Spanish. Won't be back

The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Nice people. Beach is amazing and sea in hotel area is clean. Food - excellent kitchen staff 5 stars it is really all inclusive hotel and service. Small bad points: 1. Diving club Reef Oasis company - it is only for beginners. They coming only to shortest reef around hotel, and had interesting surface brakes between dives - 30 minutes it’s funny story because it’s officially 5stars PADI dive club… I’m PADI instructor for more than 20 years and never found diving club with safety rules like this after five in St. George wreck +32m depth my group brake was 40 minutes… Wow Dive spot Catalina Island - we paid 50 USD extra price per person for this trip, but it’s fully garbage place in shallow water and very nice wall with exciting corals without big fish and any big species… sad story because our guide spent half diving time in shallow water with rubbish 2. Hotel room Superior Plus - a new one and bigger than standard room, have no coffee set. I don’t know why, because chipper rooms have

We stayed for 2 weeks in a superior ocean review room with Sunwing vacations. We booked the Palace for the view and so we could also use the sister resort called the Beach. We’ve been doing all inclusive resorts for 26 years and this one was definitely different, which was surprising given it’s part of the Wyndham hotel chain. Whether you see things as good or bad depends on what you prefer. So here’s some things you should know. The rooms are basic and in need of an upgrade. No toiletries are provided except shampoo and body wash in wall dispensers and they are terrible quality. The mini fridge has 4 pop (no beer) to start and is not restocked. There is no bottled water anywhere except to purchase in the stores. Instead there is a large glass bottle provided in the room and water refill stations everywhere. Beach towels cannot be exchanged for fresh ones until after 12. You cannot get fresh beach towels at the end of the day. The breakfast buffet is minimal and there are less items at the Palace than at the Beach buffet. Food wasn’t any higher quality at the Palace and was often cold or undercooked. (Especially eggs). There is no liqueur served in the buffets other than beer. No mimosas or champagne for breakfast. There is a limit to the Ala Cartes of 4 per week and only dress code is no swim suits. You cannot pay for extra Ala cartes. Service was ok but not outstanding and almost no one tips nor was it expected. Reservations can be made days in advance using their app. There are no Ala cartes for breakfast or lunch, only buffet. There is lots of entertainment but most of it is all at the Beach and it can be loud and is geared towards a younger crowd. They have a foam party but only once every 2 weeks. The theatre has an awesome digital screen but most of the seating is on bare cement where people also walk with their dirty shoes. There are many small pools throughout and each has a bar and self serve sports bar type food along with tables to eat or just hang out. There’s a crepe bar open until 7pm and 2 fruit smoothie bars called Tiki Bars. There’s a coffee shop with deserts. The beach is amazing as is the location. The water is clear and generally calm. There are plenty of loungers and shade under the palms. The resort caters mostly to Europeans and they sell the majority of resort packages under other names like Bavaro and Club Marimar (at first we thought they different resorts that we weren’t permitted to use because of the signage). The Beach and Palace resorts also blend together and it’s difficult to know which is which as there’s no signage but it didn’t matter. All in all we had a good time but it could have been much much better with only some small changes. For us it was more like staying in a basic Travelodge hotel and eating in their buffet rather than going out and enjoying a fancy restaurant..

Had a really lovely two week holiday here. The weather was great and the hotel (Dominicus Palace) overall was nice. There’s room for improvement though and some general info /tips: Language As to be expected in a Spanish speaking country, the main language spoken is Spanish. Some of the staff can speak better English than others and be prepared that some will not understand English at all. I would recommend you learn some basic Spanish conversational words to get by. Restaurants You can book up to four al a carte restaurants both in Dominicus palace and Dominicus beach per week. You book through the Viva app. However if you are in a group and want to book for more than the max two people in your room, you need to do it through the Guest Relations team. The time slots book up fast but the restaurants are never busy, always lots of free tables so not sure why more people can’t book the time slots. Buffet restaurant. Get to the sittings early. For example, if you’re not at breakfast by 08:00 things start to run out and the staff are not re-setting tables. You’ll have to ask for cutlery and a cup for coffee etc. Good selection of food at the buffet with different theme nights. Arleny was so lovely and friendly and very attentive at all meal times. Pool The pool tends to have less people than the beach. You can get a pool towel from 08:00. Be aware, the staff will randomly enter your hotel room looking for towels that people have kept at the end of the day and not handed back in. Put the do not disturb sign out to prevent the random entries! The music at the pool is loud and the exact same songs on repeat every day which gets a bit annoying. Lots of pool games with the entertainment staff to keep you / kids active. Rooms The rooms have recently been refurbished and are of a good standard, clean and neat workmanship. The room key is incorporated into your all inclusive wrist band which is handy as you never have to worry about where it is. The air conditioning does leave the room smelling a bit damp. There are two reading lamps in between the two beds which have a bright blue neon light emitting from them when off. This blue light is very bright so if you need complete darkness to sleep I would recommend that you take a sleep mask with you. Gym The gym has the basic equipment and is quite small. As soon as it opens at 08:00 it gets very busy with the hotel staff. They tend to take over most of the machines. Animals Such lovely animals in the grounds, Pea Hens, ducks, lizards, turtles and geese. The geese tend to roam lots and will come up to the pool area, sometimes to drink from it and on occasion for a swim! They will also almost certainly wake you up early. They are not friendly, do not try to stroke / touch them but I f you leave them alone they won’t come near you. WiFi The wifi is sporadic at best. In some places, especially by the swimming pool, you won’t get any coverage. Night entertainment I have seen better. We o

Firstly i will start off by saying tui should not be selling this hotel to English holidaymakers! All entertainment in spanish or Russian, even reception couldn’t speak english! We literally didn’t come across another english person! Tui reps dont exist either! Finally got to see the rep the day before we left! We had to hunt him down ad we had no info on pick up/transfer times. The food was ok and i do struggle with food abroad, but the drinks are poor! The beer was like sparkling water, yet the soft drinks were flat and prosecco tasted like lemonade and they ran out of ingredients for cocktails, we expected more from the palace side, there was no waiter service around the pool which is usually standard in the Caribbean! Entertainment on the palace side isnt great either, there was a singer called mario at the pool bar one night and he was great! We stayed here as part of a cruise and stay, we are so glad we did the stay first, after a cruise this would have been such a let down. The layout of the hotel is great and loved the animals but drinks and entertainment seriously let it down….doubt we would return

Our stay was amazing! We were there as a family. First of all I need to say thank you to Bruno Pineda from sailing team. He made our stay really exceptional. He was super helpful with booking catamaran for my son and really went beyond our expectations! Absolutely professional guy! Servis in hotel was lovely too. Guys from the bar near by the beach was very friendly. Room was clean and service professional! Thank u so much for such a lovely stay !

This resort shares the beach and amenities with ViVA BEACH, and the Beach has one of the most amazing beaches and properties that I have ever stayed at in the DR, now back to the Palace, the hotel grounds, and one pool they have is nice and fun, but the rooms are terribile just disgusting, moldy, full of bugs, and the septic system gets backed up quite often, the staff while pleasant really cant do much it is an upkeep issue, minibar does not get refilled, and they bill you daily to use the safe. Food was decent but much better choices at the VIVA beach side, basically everything is at VIVA Beach and you only sleep at the PALACe( should be called a dump) Overall if you can get this place for cheap, you will get to enjoy one of the most beautiful Beaches in the carribean, and beautifull resort grounds, but the rooms are just so bad and falling apart. DO NOT PAY PREMIUM PRICE FOR THIS PLACE!!!
