IXORA Hotel and Spa

I had an incredible stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Snowdonia. The hotel offers stunning views that truly capture the beauty of the surrounding landscape. The staff were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with any requests. The location is perfect, offering easy access to local attractions while providing a peaceful retreat. The food and drink options were excellent, with a variety of delicious meals available. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and relaxing stay in a breathtaking setting.

It’s ok as it has a gym allowing under 18’s so my child could enjoy as well. The room was quite decent and clean. We enjoyed it very much though the price is a little bit high.

Nice hotel, nice service and beautiful location.

We visited here on the weekend of 11th-13th July 2025. On booking the room we paid extra for the lake view. This was appalling customer service on the part of the hotel as the “lake” is a man made lake for a water park that has been closed for a year and has been partly drained of water- so paying extra for this “view” was an absolute disgrace on behalf of the hotel. The parking was good and check in easy, although it would have been nice if the male receptionist gave some/any information on the spa. The room was nice, there was a lot of dust, but a nice layout and the aircon was good. The bed was comfortable and on the first night we slept well…..on the second night (Saturday) there was an alarm that was going off constantly from 6pm until 9.30 on the Sunday morning. The alarm sounded followed by a speaker announcement, this was every 30-60 seconds and made sleep impossible.the most important elements of a hotel for us are cleanliness and sleep, so zero points as we didn’t sleep at all on Saturday night, really disappointing. The breakfast was excellent. On the Saturday night at 5ish we went to the restaurant, there was only one other table that was being used. The male waiter (there were 5 waiting staff 3 females a younger male and an old male - it was the old male) made a big fuss about us not having a reservation and how he would try his best to find us a table and fit us in - like he was doing us a huge favour (I would rather of him just said no, sorry there is no room - despite it being clearly obvious that there was as only one table was taken and whilst we were there only 3 other tables became occupied!!!). This was extremely off putting and pompous. Poor customer service on his part as 20 minutes later a party of two came in without a reservation as well and the female waitress told them “no problem, follow me” and seated them straight away without any drama at all. The male needs to do better and realise that he is not in a Michelin star in London! Whilst eating there were various people walking through the restaurant in swim shorts, bikinis from the spa to the bar and back again, this was extremely distasteful in a restaurant and due to all of the above factors we wouldn’t eat there again in the evening. Over all the hotel was nice, but the lack of sleep due to the alarm and the males attitude in the restaurant really put us off from staying here again. A great shame.

Pros: Hotel staff were super friendly, room was really clean and spacious with good amenities, had a gym, laundry room, shop, restaurant and a bar. Thought the hotel was an amazing price! Also had free parking. Only a 45 minute drive from Snowdon so was ideal to stop off overnight after the climb. The restaurant and bar are really reasonably priced and check in/out was super swift and easy. Cons: Obviously the hotel is a little 'in the sticks' so you can't just walk into the town or village or anything. Shop was a little overpriced for snacks and drinks but I feel this is something that you kind of expect. Spa is an additional charge which was a shame, think it worked out as £25 each extra, so unfortunately wasn't able to try these out and also give my review.
