Mashpi Lodge

Mashpi is simply great and astonishing, both for the location and in absolute terms. We booked with them directly, the organization and pre-travel support was seamless and professional (thanks to Maria Emilia), the transfer was punctual and comfortable for the bumpy road (thanks to Jorge). The activities and treks we did very extremely nice and insightful, our guide Lizardo was unbeatable in noticing animals that we would not have noticed from a distance of 10 cm, and in explaining us the various plants. The food is above Michelin-star quality: it is simply impeccable and really far exceeds what you get in many fine-dining restaurants in Italy or Spain (that we know). This was complemented by a friendly, unintrusive and quick service by the restaurant team (thanks, Edison). Special merit to the whole lodge for how they managed the visit of a VIP which coincided with our stay - we didn't feel bothered or restricted at all, and the quite sizeable security team was extremely polite and reserved (and we must mention: friendly with our kids.) Overall, it is an expensive experience which is worth every cent, highly recommended.

Truly a unique experience in one place where you can be in touch with nature across a rain forest, Cloud forest and tropical forest

The most amazing experience in my life. Beautiful hotel, fantastic staff and service and a fantastic guide who took us around the rain forest. So glad I experienced it.

We had such an amazing time visiting your lodge. Our guides, Fernando and Nixon were incredible. They were so patient with my children. It’s such a beautiful place. Hiking around and seeing the animals was such fun thank you so much for having us.

What a fantastic lodge up in the sticks of the Quito cloud forest. Loved every minute there. Great birding and the butterfly breeding area is amazing. Special thanks got top all the staff there but especially in the restaurant Fabricio, Jorge, Xavier, and our guide Andreas who was great at his job and so knowledgable. Would have liked to see some bird feeders closer to the lodge but maybe that would spoil the enjoyment of tracking the them. The cable car and bike ride (Dragonfly) also fantastic to see and do across the forest canopy. All incredible , thanks again for a great 3 nights there. Roger and Denise Sargent.
