I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and it was truly an exceptional experience from start to finish. What stood out immediately was how responsive and efficient the team was through the group chat they created for guests. It felt like having a concierge in your pocket—fast, friendly, and always ready to help. One moment that really impressed me: I had sent my laundry in (yes, they offer complimentary laundry service—not just machines, but actual washing and drying done for you!), and I noticed one of my socks was missing. I casually asked about it in the group chat while I was having breakfast near the reception area. To my surprise, I saw a staff member literally sprint off from the reception and return shortly after—with my missing sock in hand! That level of attentiveness was genuinely remarkable. There was a little hiccup when the hotel forgot our advance booking for transport. We were initially told to book our own as their cars were all taken, which left us pretty dissatisfied—especially since it wasn’t a last-minute request. But while I was venting to my friend, one of our butlers overheard us and quietly stepped in. She said she'd help us out—and to our surprise, she personally booked a DiDi ride for us using her own money. We were honestly amazed by that level of care, and it meant so much that we later decided to bring her a little taste of our local delight as a thank-you gift. The hotel also offers complimentary afternoon tea, complete with barista-made coffee and cakes—a perfect treat to enjoy while soaking in the tranquil atmosphere. Speaking of which, the view from my room was incredible—lush, open grasslands that made every moment feel peaceful and grounding. They also offer a car service to take you to nearby points of interest, but to be honest, the hotel itself was such a gem that I could have easily stayed in the whole time. Between the view, the service, and the food (the in-house restaurant is also worth mentioning—delicious meals and lovely ambience), I never felt the need to venture far. This hotel nails it when it comes to comfort, hospitality, and thoughtful touches. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a truly relaxing and memorable stay. Bonus: they have three adorable chowskis roaming around the property, and one of them can even open the lobby door. 🐾 Honestly, that alone made my day. ”We're from Thailand, and this hotel is superb! The rooms are clean, warm, and cozy, with floor and bedroom heating—perfect for the cold weather. The toilet even has an auto bidet (very important for us Thais!). Though the hotel is on high ground and the stairs might make you a bit tired, the effort is totally worth it. The owner is incredibly kind, offering unlimited drinking water and fresh fruit. The rooftop has the best view—beautiful scenery where you can relax and enjoy the moment. We had an amazing stay at Shangri-La Banxia Time Homestay, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shangri-La, Yunnan. From the moment we booked, the host was extremely responsive, keeping in touch with us for three weeks before our trip. They provided useful tips, such as bringing heavy clothes due to the cold and snow, which helped us a lot in preparing for our visit. One of the best things about this homestay was the hospitality. The host picked us up and dropped us off at the train station for free of charge, making our arrival and departure hassle-free. They also went the extra mile by lending us winter jackets at no cost, which was a thoughtful gesture. Additionally, they arranged a driver for us to visit the places we wanted to explore, making our trip smooth and enjoyable. The homestay itself was fantastic—spacious, exactly as shown in the pictures, and equipped with complete amenities. It truly felt like a home away from home. The bed was very comfortable, and we appreciated the hot blankets and oxygen supply, which were essential due to Shangri-La’s high altitude. The homestay also had a modern design while being located in the heart of the ancient town, offering easy access to everything. Beyond the comfortable stay, the host’s kindness and guidance made our experience even better. They recommended great places to visit and local restaurants to try, ensuring we had a memorable trip. The size of the room was crazy, and super clean, with floor heating, humidifier and oxygen machine, very friendly to the ones who suffer from altitude sickness (luckily both of us were tough enough) and the staff of the hotel might be the most warm-hearted and friendly hotel staff I’ve ever seen. If you have Wechat they will add you into a service group and you can ask for help or services there, very convenient. And it is also super close to the ancient city, 5mins walk. 10/10, will definitely recommend to family and friends.

Environment: The room is very large and the facilities are very complete. The oxygen concentrator, floor heating, humidifier and other basic needs can be met! The hotel is very close to the east gate of Dukezong, and it takes less than five minutes to walk to Guishan Park and the ancient city area. Service: The boss is very enthusiastic. No matter how early the high-speed rail trip is, you can tell the boss in advance that you can pick up for free. We have a high-speed rail at 10 o'clock in the morning, and there are other guests who also want to go to the high-speed rail station. The car can't fit the boss, so he called a special car in advance to send other guests, and he was always worried about other guests' itineraries in the car! Thank you very much🙏 Hygiene: The hotel is also very clean and tidy. I looked at the hygiene of Shangri-La's B&Bs on the Internet before, but this B&B can't be found out of any hygiene problems! It's a no-brainer rush. I will come to Shangri-La to climb Meili Snow Mountain next winter. I will definitely come to this B&B again!

At first we contemplated to choose to stay here. But after much consideration, we decided to stay and forget about the price. As we decided that the experience here would be priceless! And we definitely grateful with the decision that we made. The whole place is so beautiful and charming. With animals running around, politeness of the staffs assisting our every needs, complimentary services provided by the hotel, this hotel is really cost- effective! We are greeted with warm tea, and then with complimentary afternoon coffee and cakes. Their coffee and cake are very delicious 🤤 We also get to experience wearing the ******* clothing and free photography session. As we are muslims, we need to pray for zuhur prayer. But the check out time is before zuhur time. The staff gave us a room to pray after we check out and we really appreciate their kind gesture. The staff also gave us free rides to halal restaurants and train station. We recommend people to stay here at least once, you will not regret it 🩷

I’m from malaysia & every things about this hotel is so perfect. They provided pick up & drop off service from station for free. The host also very kind and helpful eventhogh i can’t speak chinese. I love the hotel because it keeps you warm and comfortable. Definitely will stay here again if i come to shangri-la. The distance from hotel to ancient city also not to far. Only 5 mins walkaway. I just love every single things about this hotel. The price also reasonable.

I’ve just returned to my home country, and I’m already thinking about staying at this wonderful hotel in Shangri-La again! The location is excellent—strategically situated near Dukezong Ancient City. For Muslim travelers, finding halal food is incredibly easy, which made my stay even more comfortable. The hospitality here is unmatched. The owner, who is also a tour guide, went above and beyond to make my trip memorable. Before arriving in Shangri-La, I had inquired about visiting Bottomless Lake. Since the owner was busy, we went with his father instead. He was so kind, attentive, and caring towards both of us as female travelers. To top it off, they even drove us to our next hotel in Napahai. I want to highlight how thoughtful everyone here! The sister picked us up from the train station and made sure our room was warm and cozy before we arrived. The bed and pillows were incredibly fluffy, ensuring we had a great night’s sleep. Since I forgot to take photos of the room, don’t worry it’s exactly the same as the pictures. So I’m sharing pictures from our amazing tour to Bottomless Lake instead. I highly recommend staying at this hotel if you’re visiting Shangri-La, especially if you plan to explore the area. Everyone here is so welcoming, and they truly make you feel at home!

The hotel provides excellent services. The best hotel to stay in shangrila. The location is very strategic near the supermarket and other food stalls. If you are a muslim, this hotel is very close to the halal food stall. The hotel provides pick-up and drop off at the railway station. The hotel staff is super friendly and helpful. It also provides extra oxygen in the room. If you come to shangrila, book this hotel straightaway. You will not regret it. You can communicate with the hotel if you want to go to the balagezong.

The interior of the homestay is designed in white and simple style, which is very unique in the city of Shangri-La. The pick-up service is very considerate, and all the staff are warm and hospitable. The experience is particularly great! There is an oxygen concentrator and humidifier in the room, and toiletries are all available! I will definitely stay here again next time I have the chance!
