We stayed at Hideaway Beach Resort for 4 nights in April 2025 as a family of three, and it was a wonderful experience. Our journey started smoothly — after landing early in the morning at Malé Airport, the Hideaway team welcomed us and escorted us to a private lounge reserved for seaplane guests. Even though we had to wait a little due to weather conditions, the service was great, and the holiday truly felt like it started from that moment. We stayed in an Ocean Villa but also had a chance to visit a Beach Villa. Both villas were very clean, with a quiet and efficient air-conditioning system and an extra walk-in dressing space, which was very convenient. Some furniture could use a little renovation, but this didn’t impact our comfort — overall, the villa experience was excellent (4.5/5). One of the absolute highlights of Hideaway is its exceptional house reef. Just a couple of meters from the beach, you can snorkel among all the colorful fish that Maldives is famous for. Almost every snorkeling session at the edge of the reef offered sightings of eagle rays, blacktip sharks, and even manta rays and turtles if you’re lucky! This made it an unforgettable experience, especially for our daughter. The service throughout the resort was friendly and attentive, with a special thanks to our personalized butler, Zareer, who made our stay seamless. We also enjoyed two excursions included in our package — a guided snorkeling tour (ideal if you are new to snorkeling) and a sunset dolphin cruise, which was a very special family memory. Dining was overall good but could be improved to match the resort’s high standard in other areas. The food is generally international and safe, but we missed the creativity and chef’s touch that could elevate the experience, especially for guests staying longer. That said, the beverage options were good, and staff were quick to address any feedback. The resort atmosphere is relaxed, and the kids club staff were very friendly, offering lots of activities — although there weren't many children during our stay over Easter. Overall, Hideaway Beach Resort is a beautiful place that combines luxury, nature, and a family-friendly spirit. With some small improvements to the culinary experience and room furnishings, it would be absolutely perfect. We would definitely recommend it, especially for families who love snorkeling and a relaxed, peaceful holiday experience.
