I am only giving Joy Island 4 stars due to the lack of information available to us pre-trip. We wanted to make reservations to go scuba diving to make sure we would be diving. All our communication was thru email because it would have been too expensive to call. They were always quick to respond to my emails but every time I mentioned diving and reservations they responded vaguely. I was given a web site for a dive shop but when I looked up the company it appeared to not even be associated with Joy Island and no way of contacting them. We weren’t sure if we were going to even get to go diving from Joy Island. We were nervous going with so many unknowns. Our main purpose of choosing to go to the Maldives’s was to go scuba diving. We found Joy Island thru Travelocity. We chose a resort instead of a live board because we wanted more activities than just diving. Joy Island resort seemed to be a good choice for us. Months leading up to departure we felt uncomfortable due to the lack of information available for diving as well as activities on the island. We were told to wait till we get to the island to make reservations for sunset fishing, dolphin watching or scuba diving. When we arrived at Joy island we were pleasantly surprised to find such a nice dive shop. The dive staff was great. Yanna, Victor and Adam were amazing guides. We dove 4 days. The dive boat Joy Island used is top notch with amazing crew members (Bhigadeythe captain, and 2 crew members Mitha and Muslim). Hakeem kept our dive gear clean and ready to go. Activities on the island were managed by Karim. He made party activities so much fun. He engaged guests to do activities otherwise I probably would not have tried. On Hawaiian night Karim performed an amazing fire dance. The spa was a top notch spa. We did daily yoga with Maning and morning stretching with Susu. We also enjoyed a massage. Cecelia and SeI had experienced magical hands. The Market is where we ate most of our meals. It always had a variety of fresh and flavorful things to choose from. Dita greeted us at every meal with a smile and a warm greeting. The entire staff on the island was always pleasant and so helpful. Never did I feel like I was putting anyone out by asking them to do something for me. A couple of negatives. First, I wish the resort would implement a Daily Resort activities list. It would have been helpful when we were trying to plan a fishing or dolphin excursion with other activities that were occurring on the island. The other negative is the infinity pool side needs more lounge chairs and umbrellas. We were not once able to enjoy a lounge chair with an umbrella (we were there 10 days). There was not enough of them in the first place then other guests would place a towel or some personal item on them so no one else could use them. Some of the chairs would sit empty all day with no one ever coming back to them. Maybe the chairs could be monitored more closely to prevent that from happening. Over all we

Stayed for 4 nights. The hotel staff is helpful. I requested a transfer from the airport by email in advance. 50 minutes shaking on speed board? About. It was only $ 100 per person because we went only to the couple. The return ride was a shared ride, so about $ 40 per person? was. The beach in front of the hotel! The best point for snorkeling. There were colorful, large and small fish. For activities such as diving, you will receive an application form, just write your wishes and give it to the reception. I dived. Is breakfast normal? is. It's not very delicious and the variety is less. . . Guest house rather than hotel? It is like. Since it is a local island, it has not been resorted. Recommended for those who want to enjoy the sea. Please bring your own hair dryer. There are beach towels. Because there are many mosquitoes, insect repellent is essential. The picture was taken from the beach in front of the hotel! The sea is too beautiful and the best.

Amazing place. We loved it here. We left to go to another island and, after 24 hours, returned to Ameera as we felt so at home here. The hotel manager is warm, gentle, funny and does everything possible to make the holiday amazing. Thank you so much. Chef Sir made special meals for our vegan daughter. The snorkelling trips were wonderful. We felt so relaxed, safe and looked after. Strongly recommend Ameera - our best family holiday ever

Excellent hotel, very clean, the room was cleaned every day, 3 liters of drinking water were provided for a family of 2 adults and 2 children every day. Very polite and responsive staff. We went on an evening fishing excursion from the hotel. We caught 10 fish. The next day, we had 5 fish fried for dinner at the hotel restaurant and the buffet was provided for free. It was very tasty.
