The Brewster Inn

We traveled to Deter, Me to visit a navy buddy and his wife, who I had not seen in ten years. We had never been to Dexter before and had no idea where to stay. We found the Brewster Inn online and chose it due to its proximity to our destination. It turned out to be a great choice! Our hosts at the Inn, Mark and Tina, are friendly, helpful, and informative. They live in the Inn in separate quarters, and Tina is a source of historical information about the house. The landscaping around the property is gorgeous. My wife, Shawn, had a great time observing the flowers, trees, and shrubs. Our room was also very comfortable. It is well-lit, quiet, and we slept without care. The hot shower was welcome after hours of travelling. We had a delicious breakfast casserole each morning, along with plenty of fresh fruit, bagels, and coffee. On our day of departure, we had a slow leak in a tire that necessitated a repair. Mark was very helpful by providing local information and allowing us to change the tire in front of the Inn as it was raining heavily that day. Very comfortable and welcoming. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite, which was nicely decorated with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was home cooked, with something different each day. Mark and Tina were engaging and always available for questions or help. Located in a quiet neighborhood, easy access to surrounding activities such as Sebec Lake. Also right next to Rails to Trails which is a very popular ATV trail.

Our stay at The Brewster Inn in Dexter, Maine was nothing short of exceptional, and the Hartley Suite made it even more special. This spacious and beautifully appointed suite offered the perfect blend of historic charm and modern convenience. The room was immaculately clean, featuring a comfortable bed, elegant furnishings, and a cozy ambiance that made it feel like a true retreat. The private bathroom was well-stocked with plush towels and quality amenities, adding to the luxurious experience. Each morning, Mark and Tina welcomed us with a delicious homemade breakfast, crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail made us feel truly valued as guests. Beyond the suite itself, the inn’s beautifully landscaped gardens and inviting common areas provided a peaceful escape. We enjoyed our stay and time with family in Dexter. No doubt we will be back!

We stayed at the Brewster Inn while visiting a peony farm in nearby St. Albans. The Game Room is very large, with lots of space to relax in. There are lots of windows and a breeze which made the room sunny and cool. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast and relaxing on the sun porch that overlooks the garden. Also, we felt like there was a better level of privacy compared to other inns we have stayed at because of the inn's design; all the rooms are not off one staircase or hall. Mark and Tina were very accommodating. Also the price for the room was so reasonable. We will absolutely stay here again.

I highly recommend the Brewster Inn, home of a former Maine Governor. The Brewster Inn became my favorite BnB and is a real gem. Mark and Tina were very attentive to our needs and made us feel right at home. We rented the Honeymoon Suite (46 years married) which was very comfortable! The bed was awesome - we slept great! Awesome breakfasts. Each day we were greeted with a different home cooked breakfast selection. Mark and Tina are very knowledgeable about places to visit and things to do in Maine. The Brewster Inn will be my go to place for future trips. I highly recommend the Brewster Inn as the perfect place to stay in central Maine.
