A few days before our stay, I sent a message to the hotel through the WhatsApp link on their website. I did not get a reply so not a good start. Positives: good location, good parking The Standard Double room we booked room was tiny! There was no space to move around or for our luggage and only space for 1 bedside cabinet. But I know it’s an old building so I can understand the limited space. However, what has put me off from returning to this hotel is the bad cleaning and horrendous smell from the corridor and room carpet. The carpets were full of stains and desperately needs replacing and the whole building needs a deep clean. It’s such a small space so it would not be expensive to do so I can’t understand why it has not been done for the price charged. The room had cobwebs in the corner of the floor and there were clumps of hair on the bathroom floor. The bathroom had a broken shelf so there was no space for toiletries. The furniture was scratched and chipped. These issues are easily noticeable so I’m not sure why they were not picked up during a room inspection. The room was unbearably hot despite having the window fully open all night. It was raining that day so it wasn’t very hot outside, but the tiny room was incredibly stuffy and too hot to sleep. I can understand that the building is old so some things are not changeable but the room needs to be clean and have good ventilation to get a good night sleep. This seems more like a place for workmen, like previous reviews have mentioned. It’s certainly not a welcoming and clean hotel for a few nights break in the area. Unfortunately I won’t be returning and would not recommend it.

We were in the anex and it suited us as my husband has problems climbing stairs and we were on the ground floor. It was clean enough and the beds were very comfortable. I found it a bit strange that there was no provision for breakfast and there is nowhere around that serves breakfast. As we came by train, we had to rely on public transport and taxis to get around. I also found it strange that a hotel closed at 10pm at night and all day Sunday. We were eventually given a code for the key box incase we were after 22.00. As it was we were there by 21.30 but there was still nobody at reception. I tried to call several times to request a code and advise that we might be late and eventually got an answer a couple of hours before we arrived. Also email took 24 hours to get answered.

If i could give this hotel a minus in stars I would ! I have no idea what rooms these people we're in that are giving good reviews! We stayed here last night and the room , the room was disgusting I had to make my 7 month old sleep in these conditions, the bed sheets were dirty the walls were falling apart, there's no staff , no bar open even when told via email it would be , its like meeting the crypt keeper at the gates of hell ! Honestly do not stay here no matter how they try to paint this place its a bag of crap , complaint has been logged !!! Should've slept in the cementry over the road would've been cleaner

Stevie and the team were excellent when looking after us all for Dad's funeral, great service, great space, the food was fresh and well presented with plenty of it. Highly recommended. Thank you all

Stayed here to attend my late brothers wake. Hotel rooms are basic and a little dated but are clean and comfortable. The downsides are no breakfast available only a breakfast bag which I did not want and no evening meal available Fri to Sun, indeed when we came back around 9pm the place was deserted so we just went to bed. The staff however are fantastic and went above and beyond when I thought I'd lost my wallet.

Heath cottage hotel is in great location for visiting many attractions in West Yorkshire. The room was a nice size , comfy bed , clean room with en-suite bathroom . Tea coffe making facilities in room. The big disappointment is they have stopped serving breakfast and only offer breakfast bags for your room. One of main reasons we stayed before was because of the brilliant breakfast they served & great staff here. Now you hardly see a member of staff as reception is closed alot of the time The Restaurant is closed at weekends & Sundays the bar is closed I think the hotel company have made a big mistake in stopping breakfast and closing the bar and restaurant on weekends Unfortunately because of lack of these facilities we will have to consider booking another hotel next time. This is a real shame as we used to love staying here

I was having my 60th Birthday party here on Saturday 26 th April. And stay the night in the Bridal suite. I found it a bit stressful as there was quite a few restrictions as to what I could not do . I paid £450 for the function rooms and I had a lady coming who I paid to dress the room but I was told she could not put anything on the chair like chair sash which was In with my price I paid & that I could only your own! At a extra cost !!., which would of worked out expensive. A Big bug bear for me was the Toliets there was a cloth Hand Towel in there which is unhygienic and I was embarrassed for all my guests' family & friends !! .Not Drinks limited for my guests , suggested to have some John smiths as I knew alot of my guests drank this , but did not get any. The staff throughout the evening could not do enough for us which was loverly So a few of my guests stayed the night to be told a few days before my party there would be NO BREAKFAST not ideal another and was embarrassing to my guests who had Travelled from Far. I really think you need to up date your website it's very mis- leading !!.Lots of noise outside after 1am talking very out think they were living at the hotel and was not English spoken . Hotel not open while 2pm every day so was not ideal for my party and people wanting to drop off 😒!!

The hotel itself looks amazing from the outside. I was quite astonished to find there is no staff on site before 3pm and after 10pm. On the information we received via e-mail I was told you can purchase breakfast on arrival for the following day. On arrival when I asked to do so , I was informed that "We don't do it now". I was somewhat taken aback at the way the response was given. When I made the reservation only one week previously, by telephoning the hotel directly, I was told that breakfast could be booked! I think the information on the website requires updating to make customers aware that you can't have breakfast as it clearly states breakfast is available at an extra charge. Luckily we were only there for one night in order to attend a family funeral the following day. I was somewhat dissapointed with the room. It was dated and required some renovation. If your looking for a quiet retreat, I'm afraid this isn't it. The traffic is constant and although not the hotels fault, had I known, I would have chosen somewhere else.
