Dev Shree Deogarh

We stayed there on Nov 2024 .It proved to be a complete waste of money. The owner boasts of 5 acres or 10 acres of property but it isn't the case.He claims nearby lands,dry bushes as hisown but they are not . Then they took us to the deluxe room.It was dark room.No T.V .Toilet was o.k with no bath tub. Bed sheets kept at a side to see the external view of the farm lands and near by village was filthy and dirty. Two wire plugs of the room were not functioning. There was no facility of food supply to the room. There was no menu.So,you don't have any choice but you have to eat what they cooked(boiled food called as organic food from the nearby farmlands as told to me by the owner..good for foreigners :) ) and they charged a very hefty amount for that. When we contacted the owner,he said it's not a hotel,It's a homestay and that they had clearly mentioned it in the website which was not the case. Only good thing about the hotel is Dogs at the property . Overall considering the amount they charge,not worth money at all if you are an Indian.Foreigners who don't care about money but wish to see poor,dry India and eat organic food from the nearby farmlands :) and chat with nice english speaking owners can visit .

Having stayed at The Serai outside Jaisalmer the previous night, Dev Shree pales in comparison. The property is out in the middle of nowhere which most guests would likely have known and purposely chosen when booking the hotel. The building is interesting and well-designed with all nine of the suites . The service, however, was far below the level expected . The general feeling from my travel companions was that service was absent and when provided, 'surly'. We did not realise that our room booking came with a village safari excursion. We asked if we could swap the excursion for another activity but was refused by the owners. We would have either paid for the difference if the excursion we chose to swap was more expensive or not have asked for a refund if it was less. I was surprised the owners were not more accommodating to their guests when there are so few rooms. The wine list was laughable - again, the quality far below that expected . We ordered several dishes of Indian food and all were just mediocre. The owner's son stopped by during dinner to chat. I agree with a previous review that this was more to make senseless conversation rather than with a real care for feedback from guests. It was all a blunder

We booked Dev Shree Deogarh after reading lots of good reviews but it was not a good idea and it was too late by the time we realised . It’s a noisy village , loud music in the night couldn’t let us sleep . Food was okay , it was not of our liking . I never stayed at any hotel where the owner only talks negative about other hotel and about his own brother . He was only cribbing about his own brother all the time . Spoiled my stay completely . Not recommended at all

The place is a mixture of royal stay with home stay vibes, excellent property, delicious food, fantastic ambience and remarkable hospitality ,the safari to Bhil Beri falls was made memorable with the picnic lunch provided

What a fabulous place. We are very familiar with travel to India. Devshree was superb,a wonderful warm family. We stayed 6 nights and did not want to leave. You must stay more than 1 night to experience true Indian hospitality. You relax immediately, the staff,all of the family are truly lovely people. The pool area is relaxing, the gardens tranquil over looking the lake. The rooms were well equipped comfy beds. The food was wonderful nothing was too much trouble. Walking into the village was easy and without hassel. There is plenty to do in the area. Train ride,temple visit,evening jeep and sundowner maybe even the elusive leopard sighting! School visits , so much is available you only have to ask.This visit truley gets you to the heart of India. Thank you to Whole of the family. Sorry this is a late post.

The warmth and hospitality of Dev Shree is simply extraordinary. The facilities are lovely, the activities a wonderful exploration of the region, the food so delicious, and being part of the family simply an honor and a pleasure. This is an experience not to be missed.
